A Higher Call by Adam Makos
Excellent true story about a Nazi fighter pilot who saved an American bomber and part of the crew from being shot down by pretending to be escorting them. Pilots met years and years later. Half the book details the German's upbringing and half the American. Then they came together in old age. Very well researched and written. Heart wrenching. (Also out in Audio)

The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America by Erik Larson.

Parallel stories of the events surrounding the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and the activities of H.H. Holmes, the first modern serial killer.

I've heard that Hulu is developing the series.

The Silmarillion can be a slog to read in some parts....been slowed down by little league fall ball coaching.

Now moving onto either:

Unfinished Tales of Numenor and Middle Earth or The Book of Lost Tales Part 1

Haven't decided yet. So until one of those comes in the mail I'll move back to The Fellowship of the Ring.

I'm obsessed with reading everything Tolkien right now....this will take a while.
