Absolutely agree! Pierce Brown is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers. I've read the first two and have the third (Morningstar) of the original trilogy and the first book (Iron Gold) of the sequel trilogy in the queue. The second book (Dark Age) of the sequel trilogy is supposed to be out later this year.
