Saw this on another board...seems like Jeremy Johnson and Reuben are having a little confrontation. Liner seemed to indicate he was on Reubens side. Could this be any indication of where these guys are going? JJ seems ticked at Reuben for the decommitment.

I think the interesting thing no one seems to be commenting on was that he said he, Liner, and Earnest Robinson were going to the same school. Now, obviously we can't take everything said at face value. If we did, we'd end up saying Dee Liner is going to Auburn and since Foster is going to follow Trooper, then Trooper is going back to Auburn to. It gets confusing and we do get mixed signals. Personally, I think Auburn still is in the mix.

Alabama recruits nationally, and that is a bit of a problem. Early on, Saban dominated the state, but that hasn't happened as often lately. According to Rivals, Alabama has four of the top 15 in state players. Auburn still has six, and Foster was a seventh. Robinson, Foster, and Liner alone make up 3 of the top 5. So, they basically swing the balance of power in the state. I think Auburn knows that all they have to do is focus heavily in-state and they can do well in recruiting.

Personally, it's hard for me to understand why a player wouldn't choose Alabama. That's no just bias either, Alabama has been consistently placing players in the NFL. Not just 4 and 5 star players either, there are 3 star players that have NFL careers right now. Arenas is a perfect example, he was a return specialist considering quitting football before Saban worked his magic. If you want an NFL career, I'm not sure there is a better destination. Let's not even get into championships. But, these are impressionable young men that we are talking about.

Anyway, I personally have no idea how this will play out. Not that long ago the thought was that Foster was solid to Auburn and that Liner was going to Alabama. As it stands now, Foster has decommitted and Liner is still committed. You can't read too much into things, even tattoos...

Bama is a National product in the Saban era. auburn has no choice but to buckle down and recruit heavy in- state. if Saban wants a Bama native bad enough, barring any auburn legacy, he will most surely get them.

The overall in-state talent this year isn't the best. Foster transferred in, so I wouldn't consider him a true in-state prospect. Robinson reportedly has grade issues. Liner had some off the field issues, too. Don't get me wrong. Bama would most likely take all three. We know Bama would take Foster and Liner since Foster was committed and Liner seems to be in CNS's cross-hairs.

Auburn getting the majority of in-state recruits seems to be more of a CNS not wanting them than Auburn winning a recruiting battle. Bama backed off Robinson before he committed to Auburn IIRC.

230, Mark Ingram was a big time high school player, despite the number of stars. I followed his recruitment at the time. I read one quote that stood out, from another Michigan HS player. He said they would rush home just to watch Mark Ingram highlights. He was that good. He had 2 games rushing over 300 yds.
