    Miss Valentine wins the Big A's Lottsa Talc Stakes

    Miss Valentine improved to 4 for 5 at Aqueduct, beating Jitney by 1 1/4 lengths on Sunday in the $73,500 Lottsa Talc Stakes for New York bred fillies and mares.

    Yes I love'em! And I'm really happy and appreciate, the support Y'all have shown, for this little part of TideFans. I wish I had more time to devote to it..I'm lucky to be living in the Bluegrass, Heart of racing. and horse lore. Kentucky, known for fast women, and beautiful Horses!

    Trainer Kenny McPeek and his family-run Magdalena Racing decided after a 91/4-length win in a Churchill Downs optional claiming race that they should pay a $20,000 supplemental fee to put Pure Fun in Saturday's $500,000, Grade I Hollywood Starlet for 2-year-old fillies at Betfair Hollywood Park. the CJ.com

    Churchill Downs has changed the method in which horses earn their way into the Kentucky Derby if more than 20 are entered for next May 4's race, abandoning preference based on graded-stakes earnings in favor of a tiered points system based on 36 races. cj.com
