Caledonia Road to plot course to Kentucky Oaks

Caledonia Road, under jockey Mike Smith, wins the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies by 3 1/4 lengths.

DEL MAR, Calif. – Caledonia Road emerged in good shape from her upset victory Saturday in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies and likely will have about 45 days of light training before trainer Ralph Nicks starts plotting out a course for the Kentucky Oaks in May.
Nicks said Caledonia Road left Del Mar well before dawn Sunday for a return flight to her home base in south Florida. He said the filly’s swift and steady improvement bodes well for her prospects at 3....

Mo Dont No repeats in Best of Ohio Endurance

Mo Dont No remained unbeaten at 1 1/4 miles with Saturday's triumph.

Reigning Ohio-bred horse of the year Mo Dont No left no doubt as to his superiority, cruising to a repeat victory in the $150,000 Best of Ohio Endurance Stakes and establishing a Belterra Park track record in the process.
This was the sixth career stakes victory for Mo Dont No ($3.20), who pushed his bankroll to $651,255 for owner Ron Paolucci's Loooch Racing Stables and trainer Jeffrey Radosevich. That duo also

Gunnevera breezes for Harlan's Holiday

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Gunnevera, who finished in a dead heat for fifth in the Breeders’ Cup Classic, had his first work back since returning from the West Coast, breezing an easy five furlongs in 1:02.18 on Sunday morning at Gulfstream Park West with jockey Edgard Zayas aboard.

Gigantic Breeze an unknown quantity on dirt

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – The $200,000 Claiming Crown Jewel is the main event Saturday on opening day of the 2017-18 Gulfstream Park Championship meet. And in the true spirit of the Claiming Crown, the 1 1/8-mile Jewel drew a large and competitive field of 13 horses coming off races run at eight different racetracks throughout the U.S. and Canada.
