Texas A&M was welcomed to the Southeastern Conference with a season-opening 20-17 loss to Florida.The Aggies then averaged 53 points in winning their next five games before losing 24-19 to LSU. They have averaged 50.5 points in winning their past two games, and now comes a 2:30 p.m. CDT game Saturday at top-rankeAlabama.
“Based on the last couple of weeks, our team has developed a little more confidence,” first-year Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin said Wednesday on the SEC coaches’ teleconference. “They’re looking forward to this opportunity.”
