As Auburn puts the finishing touches on a dismal 2012 season, the writing appears to be on the wall for coach Gene Chizik. According to a report from AuburnUndercover.com, the school is preparing a committee to help with a coaching search at the end of the season. It’s not a slam dunk Chizik is replaced, but the SEC’s 2010 Coach of the Year probably needs a win over Georgia or Alabama to save his job.
If he loses to jawja he's gone...maybe. ;)

All but Taggert & Malzon are are in UK's list also....with a head start.

If Teddy Bridgewater is having trouble being recognized as one of the best quarterbacks in America, it may be because it's really difficult to recognize Teddy Bridgewater. When he leaves his dorm room, Louisville's sophomore signal-caller sets his protection, sheathing himself in sweatpants and a hoodie, yanking the hood over his head. Often, it's not even football-issued gear, so no colors or logos betray his identity. There may be earnest well-wishers along his path. All in all, Bridgewater would rather pass

Ask Texas A&M offensive tackles Jake Matthews and Luke Joeckel about the Aggies' season-opener against Florida, and you'll likely elicit a few laughs. It was Sept. 8, and A&M was playing its first game in a new conference under a new coach. Since the Aggies had announced their plans to move to the SEC nearly a year earlier, fans in College Station had been waiting for this moment. A&M was about to get its first taste of "big-boy football." It was about to find out if it could survive in a league drastically different from the Big 12, one in which yards come at a premium and elite defenses are the norm.

Nick Saban made something perfectly clear to his players about Saturday’s game against No. 15 Texas A&M. “This is either going to bring out the best in you or the worst in you,” Saban said. And he’s right. Fresh off last week’s draining win on the Bayou, No. 1 Alabama (9-0, 6-0 SEC) must now turn around and host red-hot Texas A&M (7-2, 4-2). The Aggies own the SEC’s best offense and one of the nation’s most exciting players in quarterback Johnny Manziel. The Aggies have the kind of up-tempo offense that gets under Saban’s skin, and it’s equipped with the right offensive weapons to exploit the Tide’s defense more than LSU did. Everything that Alabama has worked for to this point could all go away at the click of Johnny Football’s heels. But the Tide really couldn’t ask for a better matchup. We’ll really find out what this team is made of Saturday afternoon in Tuscaloosa because it might have to play an even better game than it did last week.

They call him Johnny Football, and now it's Alabama's turn to figure out how to slow him down. Only a redshirt freshman, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel has turned into something of a larger-than-life character in Southeastern Conference football. He not only has helped the Aggies rise to No. 14 in the USA TODAY Sports coaches poll in their initial SEC season, but he leads the league in rushing and scoring and is second in passing A running and passing threat, he posted 557 yards of total offense against Arkansas, breaking a record set by Ole Miss' Archie Manning in 1969 and tied by Rohan Davey at LSU in 2001. Two weeks later, Manziel broke that record with 576 yards against Louisiana Tech.

Alabama just etched an entry into Crimson Tide lore with a stomach-twisting road win over No. 9 LSU after the national title hopes went on life support. Now, the top-ranked Crimson Tide face another huge, and much different, challenge. No. 15 Texas A&M visits Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday night with a versatile quarterback and a high-speed offense that seldom takes a break. Such is life in the Southeastern Conference. "That wasn't the national championship game,'' Tide left tackle Cyrus Kouandjio said. "We're not done. We've got more work to do. And we've got a different animal this week. That's how we approach it. " Alabama (9-0, 6-0) can secure a spot in the SEC championship game with a win.

Remember how fantastic last week's schedule of games was? Sure, it was annoying that most of the biggest games of the week were being played at the same time, but there was still a great game just about everywhere you looked. Well, like a lot of teams coming off a big game, the schedule is also susceptible to a letdown week. This is that letdown week, folks.
