Re: Caption This gif Of Auburns DC BVG

It looks like he was asked one of those questions that starts out "Well, if you ask me" and CBVG and Marshall, well, neither one were appreciative of it, so CBVG responded in a not so 'polite' way as to "Well, who asked you". Now, I'm not a lip reader, but...

No caption, but those are two very homely men. :pDT_orcawww:

I'd be lying if I said i didn't feel sorry for BVG for half a second when watching that interview the other day. There's no way he had any idea the kind of dumpster fire he was diving in to..

Pornstache: "This morning a bounty hunter delivered Saban to us encased in Carbonite. He is safe and sound and FOR GOD'S SAKES would someone find a couple of jawa for Jabba over here. He's obviously becoming hypoglycemic and he's beginning to look around in the audience for a snack."

Bingo. First of all, I think we win big. But I expect the barn to pull out every trick play that is within the rules, just hoping for a lucky strike here and there. Les Miles will be watching and taking notes. Barn might not even bring a punter to the game...what would be the point? 2009 all over again for them, except they don't get home cooking this time.
Really? :conf2: :conf3:

The look on Phillip Marshall's face is absolutely hilarious..This look is pretty much common place with Barners this season..I can't quit laughing at Marshall..LOL

I think Bo was outside the room screaming "I am the Bagman".

Two reasons the Bama/Barn series is "as close" as it is, record wise, right now:

1. The 1980's
2. The early 2000's

Older folks would probably throw in the 1950's too.

Outside of a few really down times for Bama, Bama has controlled the series.

Not sure why you think this situation is similar to 2009. The 2009 Auburn team had talent, was at home and coming off a bye week. Alabama did not have a bye week before that game and it was a short week with the game played on a Friday. This team isn't nearly as good as 2009, we basically have a bye week with WCU coming up, it's a home game for Alabama and we will come in focused knowing we have to win to get to Atlanta. The sting of two years ago is still there too. If you think we are overlooking Auburn, you're sadly and sorely mistaken. Alabama can and will beat the ever loving crap out of them.
That's also the year that there was a very convenient accident on the interstate that delayed bama getting to the stadium by a couple of hours the morning of the game

Re: Auburn stepping up and beating Bama ... possibility?

I almost forgot about that. My reference to 2009 was regarding the situation where auburn really had/has nothing else to gain in their season other than bragging rights. And in 2009 they played like it. As Coach Saban said in the post-game interview "When these guys go off from the script, they have all kinds of formations and plays, like double-passes, reverse passes. Most of it is stuff you haven't seen before. We knew we were going to have to play through it." He also mentioned the onside kick.
I don't think anybody on the planet thinks auburn can be competitive if they play straight up. Well, maybe just the folks who only saw barn vs. LSU. But not really anybody else.

Re: Auburn stepping up and beating Bama ... possibility?

I think too much is made of that LSU game. LSU uncharacteristically was loose with the football on offense. They may not be explosive but they haven't been prone to putting it on the grass this season. Also, I think that was simply a growing pains moment for their offense. They were trying to figure out what they could actually execute given some of their injuries. Since the Auburn and Florida games, they kind of figured out that they couldn't be wide open with the number of guys in patterns and they adjusted. That might have been Auburn's best effort but it's apparent after that game they haven't conjured up anything close to the needed intensity to win a game. It deflated them greatly that they had a quality team playing poorly enough for them to win and they couldn't even get anything together offensively to seal it.

Absolutely. It certainly had more to do with how crappy LSU played. I think the next week they even got a scare out of Towson. Just a rough spell for them. Apparently they were looking ahead.

Re: Auburn stepping up and beating Bama ... possibility?

As has been mentioned several times in this thread, the better team almost always wins this game. There have been very few upsets in the series--and none of them have happened under Saban's watch. Bama will win this one going away.

Re: Auburn stepping up and beating Bama ... possibility?

Furthermore, the worst thing that happened to Auburn was Alabama losing to TAMU because it puts a higher stake on this game: it is for an SEC title berth which is practically the only way for Alabama to even have a shot at taking the back door into a BCS title game scenario. If Alabama was sitting at 11-0 going in, I think Auburn might have gotten just one of those games where we put up enough points that we feel safe then suffocate them on defense.

Alabama's players are probably looking for an opponent to take to the shed after the TAMU game. WCU simply isn't going to be that team to them. Auburn will be. I expect it to be worse than 42-14 in all honesty. Alabama might be able to put on one of the biggest all-time beatdowns in Iron Bowl history if they protect the football.
