This was probably about as good as he could get right now. He's going to have to prove he can behave himself to land a bigger job than something like WKU (no disrespect intended, but just judging from enrollment, athletic budget, stadium size, etc. WKU isn't in the "big" category, imo). I think for the ADs (and the legal staffs that advise them) the "relationship" is less of an issue, though still a big one, than the fact that he gave her a job, set the school up for various sexual harassment claims, used the cops to try to cover things up, lied to his boss about it, and generally embarrassed the university. Maybe he learned a lesson and won't ever do that again, but he's going to have to prove it before someone in the same category as Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama, Notre Dame, or USC would be interested, if ever.
