Doesn't make sense on the surface but when you think about it, it might. Most of the "worth" is based on the net dollars the athletic programs generate. Auburn is in the SEC, so they are getting 1/14th of the TV money, but they didn't go to a bowl, which probably saved them $1 million. Their ticket and merchandise sales are probably similar to Alabama's so they probably will have a better net income than us this year because they didn't have to pay any bowl expenses.

The Journal says Ryan Brewer, an assistant professor of finance at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus, calculated the value of the programs based on each program's revenues and expenses and made cash-flow adjustments, risk assessments and growth projections for each school.
Well, if he went by API's inflated value and "growth projections"..............I can see why. If he used his own growth projections, he has clearly never seen them play.

The boogs inflate everything associated with their program. Their attendance is not good and won't be good for the foreseeable future with CNS patrolling the sideline in T-town. They are and always will be a 2nd rate football program.

Alabama has far more revenue and is a national brand where most people outside the southeast think Auburn is in California. ( we all know it is in West Georgia!) Don't believe me, Go to Texas or Ohio or NY and see what answers you get when you ask them where Auburn University is located. Actually AU would be worth more in the PAC 10. They would be able to compete with the soft left coast teams.
