IMO whatever they did started the team up...there was only one tunnel and both teams had to use it. I dont think it was an attempt to start the team down, just happened that way since they came out second.
That's true, but the game can be lost on Saturday due to emotional state. The game is won Sunday thru Friday. Seriously.
I really believe this. Notre Dame players did get to that hallway first and did have to wait for the Alabama team to come out first. Saying that, I think the Notre Dame players were in awe and a little nervous when they saw the Alabama palyers up close and realized that had to play them. I hear Eddie George talking this morning on the radio and he watched the scene play out in the tunnel area too and he said he felt at that moment, psychologically Notre Dame lost the game.I wondered what that was about. I thought they were staring in disbelief.
As for the stare-down thing, I didn't realize that's what it was...I thought it weird they had both teams coming out of the same tunnel lined up like that though with ND players watching Bama exit. Whatever, Bama came out pumped and wasn't intimidated at all. When you're smaller, weaker, and less talented than your opponent, staring doesn't help.
Did anyone notice how much earlier the Notre Dame team arrived at the Stadium than the Bama team? Seemed like they had been there for awhile when they showed the Bama buses arriving.
thats all it was, we entered first and they were waiting in the tunnel so they could enter....not a staged 'stare down' or anything.Heck I just thought it was done that way because of the arrangement. Teams had to exit the same tunnel, and Alabama had to go first because we were the "road" team. In any event, our guys seemed not to even notice that they were there.
they weren't trying to intimidate us, they were staring at warmack's belly. its trance inducing (at 13-14 seconds)
Here is a clip of it. It definitely backfired.
Looked like how a little brother watches his big brother play football and hoping they can get out there one day.
