Turned on an old MP3 player I had just recharged overnight. First song that came on....a classic performed by The King written and composed by Dick Heard & Eddie Rabbitt.

In the summer of '78 when I was still in junior high my family and I went on a road trip across much of the US (we covered twelve states) and one stretch of that trip was through Kentucky Bluegrass Country. It was one of the most beautiful stretches of land I have seen anywhere in the world. The people may not have much but they always share what they have and are down home friendly. Sadly, I haven't been back since and we weren't there very long but that part of the country remains one of my most favorite corners of the world. It's not just horse country; it's also Shaker villages, college towns and beautiful mountains. It's a visit I would unreservedly recommend to anyone.
