I don't know how common this is, but 6A Region 5 teams were 4-0 in the first round: Walker, Homewood, Minor and Briarwood Christian.
Hope I didn't jinx anybody, especially Walker.

Well, I guess I did. 1-3 in round 2; only Minor moving on.

Watched a really great game tonight between two top 10 3A teams. Colbert County scored late to beat Winfield 26-20. Pirates finished 10-2. My brother played lights out tonight on the DL. CC found success on the edges. It was really a great game.

Please don't say anything about the Cordova Blue Devils.
"And believe me, to have been in the city of Tuscaloosa in October when you were young and full of Early Times and had a shining Alabama gal by your side--to have had all that and then to have seen those red shirts pour onto the field, and, then, coming behind them, with that inexorable big cat walk of his, the man himself, The Bear--that was very good indeed." My Dad played football for Minor back in the 1930's / they lived in Mulga off of Birmingport Road -
Is this the same Minor high school my father would have played for?

Sounds like the right area; I would say yes.

More than likely. Minor has been around since the 20's. Here is a great link, I've helped this guy in the past find scores, etc. and we have built a pretty good site. Of course I haven't done as much as he has with it. Click on this link and you can find scores from any year you want. Of course with some teams it will be hard to find some scores.

    Buncha Walker County rednecks.
