The problem: I don't believe a single thing said or released by the University of Mississippi Athletics Department.

Well, you would normally expect such calls to take place with local escorts in and around Oxford, as opposed to local escorts in and around other towns Freeze is currently or about to be visiting.

Unless ou are trying to get close to the target market----------isn't IMG Academy right across the bay from Tampa?

Have you ever seen the "escorts" around Oxford? The one thing we don't need to get caught up in is what a rotten, awful, despicable human Hugh Freeze is. They knew what he was when they hired him and it shouldn't be a surprise to any of us.

Anything that can be stirred up will be to keep people from chasing the real story; escorts for recruits. That is the main thing they got hammered for in 1994 - carrying recruits to the Pony in Memphis-----just so happened it was over 60 miles away from campus and that is as far as you can go. The practice has never stopped. So now, they just bring in a busload from Nashville on recruiting weekends? Don't get caught up in the glitter.

Honestly, this would be a great hire for the Rebels. Miles is not only an incredibly successful coach, but also a great recruiter, and could help Ole Miss turn back into the strong program they once were.

When were they strong exaclty??

I see a few comments that Freeze betrayed his wife and daughters by calling the escort service(s). Has it been determined he was calling on his own behalf? OTOH has it been determined he was not calling on the behalf of recruits?
I don't think anyone knows at this point, but I think calling it a betrayal fits either way. How does he look his wife and / or daughters in the face and teach them about respect when he has no problem hiring women for sex (whether for him or someone else)?

1950s and 1960s under Vaught.

I think it was probably both. If he needed to close the deal for a big recruit and something like that might help clinch the deal.

Vaught was 190-61-12-.74525 in his 25 years. Nothing to write home about before or since.

Amazing. The comment about if only Ole Miss had issued an apology to Houston Nutt the phone call would never have been discovered reminded me of all the things I have heard about people being their own worst enemy. Wow. You know the old saying, "give 'em enough rope and they'll hang themselves."
Some people prefer to bring their own rope.

If Ole Miss does hire Les Miles, it will have been a shame that Nutt's lawyers didn't get the phone records a month earlier so we could have seen Miles at SEC Media Days.

Not trying to change the subject but the first thing that popped into my mind when I read about former CHF
and the phone call(s) was the the talk of "big cat weekend" featuring escorts and "friendly hostesses."
CHF started at OM about the same time the barn started up the "big cat weekends".

I'm guessing, but I think the escorts were for recruits because that's what he thought everyone does to get the 5* to sign.
