The word I'm hearing is that the calls to the escort services were not for Freeze himself, but for recruits. I believe they sent him packing to try to keep that quiet, but with so much media and internet, it can't stay quiet for long. The NCAA is in a big pickle with this one, if they don't hammer them.

Ok, so I won't get ALL the details but in line with AUDub's 30 for 30 reference....

Freeze comes to Oxford, a bunch of recruits with no ties to MS show up, Freeze tweets about slander, the NCAA is snooping, Tunsil has the draft day dope drag pic, the Rebel Rags lawsuit against MSU players, finger pointing at Alabama and MSU, Freeze lies and keeps the recruits - oh, I forgot the highlight about beating Alabama twice, but the reference to the infamous Arky loss in 2015 is going to almost be the turning point of the whole story....meanwhile, in all their finger pointing they blame Nutt, who retaliates, and Freeze packs it in (pardon that pun, too).........

This is insane........Seriously, this is going to make "Catholics vs Convicts" look amateurish (and that was a good one)

Why go there? Since he got busted by Houston Nutt, the pun possibilities are endless here.

(Though not exactly safe for a family site.)
Only if Houston's brother was involved...

Needs a few "What I told you..." taglines and we're set.

Houston Dale's attorney is the big winner here - that's some fine lawyering ! So Ole Miss will have to pay Nutt, plus likely get MORE NCAA penalties.

Nutt going to get paid.Ole Miss will write the check; they can't afford the bad publicity that would come with discovery and disclosure from subpoenas
Too slow with the checkbook; though they saved enuf on Freeze to pay Nutt

Dang, Houston Nutt just attained Godfather status.

The last conversation between Freeze and Nutt must have been something like this:

"Hugh, I know you fingered [Sunny] ... Come on, Hugh, don't be afraid...

(Soft piano music plays. Tom Rinaldi speaks)......

"The favorite son of Oxford, Mississippi - Nobel laureate William Faulkner - said, 'The past is never dead. It's not even past.' Every autumn Saturday, the sleepy town of Oxford comes alive. Alive with sunshine. Alive with bands playing. Alive with fans cheering. And alive with the last seeming bastion of innocence in this poor, God-fearing state - amateur athletics, most notably on the gridiron.

Faulker died in 1962, the same year the University of Mississippi Rebels won their last national football championship. The years since have been lean - one SEC championship, no national presence, and best known as the site of college football's best-known tailgating venue, the Grove. Ole Miss embodies the dichotomy of the human spirit - a constant state of desire to be thought well of by others combined with a sinister desire to prevail by any means necessary. This is the story of how another favorite son returned to Oxford and embodied that dichotomy.

(Trumpet music plays..........."30 for 30: Rebels Yell.")

Particularly since prostitutes for recruits was one of the (many) things they busted Ole Miss for back when Brewer was HC.

The bigger question is why that phone number was in there to begin with.
Seriously - back in 2000, I thought I was calling my bank from my work line in a USAF hospital. I called the 800 number and all I did was mix up the first two numbers in the three number part (I dialed 46 instead of 64 - or at least that's how they were entered).

It was a phone sex line........and after 30 seconds of, "I can't believe anyone listens to this filth," I decided to do some investigative listening for the next hour

Actually, I went running upstairs to my First Sgt and told him what happened.

I was sitting here thinking the same thing.....

The most embarrassing allegation - which the school has admitted - involves two boosters who provided extra benefits to recruits. One of those recruits, Chris Hill, was taken to a Memphis strip club, where booster Mac Dyer paid for table dances for Hill and for Hill to have his picture made with one of the topless dancers sitting on his lap.

The dancer gave Hill her blouse and a signed poster. Hill, now a wide receiver at Louisiana State, said he gave the blouse to his little sister, the poster to his little brother and the picture with the woman - to the NCAA.

(I'd say the fact there was a PICTURE and probably DNA evidence had a LOT to do with them "admitting" it......)

Wonder if OM is trying to save face (i.e., keep from getting cornholed by the NCAA) by turning the story into "Freeze got him some", as opposed to "Freeze got some for recruits"....????

I chuckle every time I see that line "receiving information from Mars" - because that's about the Ole Miss mentality, living on another planet.
