Avery Johnson and staff are currently hosting Ohio State transfer Daniel Giddens, a former four-star center in the 2015 class out of Marietta (Ga.) Wheeler, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

Giddens requested a transfer at the end of March after his first season in Columbus in which he averaged 3.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

Standing at 6-foot-10, 240 pounds, Giddens was rated the No. 8 center and the No. 49 overall player in the 2015 class, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. The former Top100 big man selected the Buckeyes over offers from Arizona, Florida and Kansas, among others.
He would have to sit a year but would have 3 years remaining. Would be a very, very nice transfer.

Big pickup (literally)! It's nice to see how this worked out. Avery loses out on a big recruit, and instead of moping around Alabama ends up with another significant recruit.

"AWE" with a "SOME" on top! Avery Knows what you have to have to be a great basketball team.! Love this pick up! For a true feshman at OSU, he actually had pretty good stats.
