Disappointed for the guys. Hoping it is the end of a years long failed experiment in leadership, but I tend to be less than optimistic it will happen.

All that can be updated, is updated.

Interesting notes today:

LSU Regional starts tomorrow

Only one game got in in Nashville as well

Rhode Island beat South Carolina (I wanted to call that the big upset of round 1 but too scared to and they did it anyways)

Clemson beat Western Carolina 24-10 in a spring football game, which Clemson was down 6-0 at one point

Ole Siss also chokes, losing to (25-27) Utah by a score of 6-5

Ole Miss is done. A 2-run Tulane homer in the 9th ends the Black Bear Rebel season.

The second SEC #1 seed falls tonight, Vandy loses to Washington to get put out just now. They looked totally uninspired Vandy team IMHO but I think we all know why they looked that way. Not to mention they were playing in the rain trying to get it over with too. Lots of upsets happening it seems.

LSU might not EVER get their regional finished.....lol. Maybe by Friday. They still haven't finished an elimination game there and it's scheduled for tomorrow "IF" it stops raining.

Best uniforms so far, N.C. State with their 80's White Sox uniforms.

Anybody see the weird play at Baton Rouge today?

Bases loaded and kid for LSU hits a ball that goes under the bench for the relievers I believe so the Rice RF'er throws his hands up to declare a ground rule double.

Well instead of waiting for the ump to come out and check the ball (at least that is how I was taught early on in little league/high school) to make sure the ball is indeed under the bench the RF decides he is going to do it himself so then the runners can legally keep going which most were already at home plate and just the batter was running at this point and of course he scores too.

Mainieri went nuts trying to say he reached for the ball (which he did) and the umps agree that play was right to go on and grand slam home run that goes down as an inside the park homer.

Crazy, but the right call. I was even taught to walk away from the ball after I threw my hands up just so they couldn't say I reached for the ball because once you do everything is live.:eek2:

I think I have all the games added from tonight, and I have compressed the regionals that are over like I did with the girls to where all those scores, etc. are just cut down to who went 1-4 in each regional.

I have also added the Super Regional matchups as those teams win.

The Raleigh regional (NC State/Coastal Carolina) will be over in a few

LSU can seal the Baton Rouge regional as they are up on Rice right now and bases loaded

And South Carolina plays tomorrow to decide their regional
-------------------------------------------------------------

So all but the Columbia regional "could" be settled tonight as Rice just walked in a run to tie the LSU game 4-4 and Rice looks to have just lost all their pitchers. Everyone they put in walks the runners so it's getting wild down there.

LSU loses to Rice so they play a winner take all game tomorrow, at 4pm Central time. Rice is running out of pitching and was tonight, but Rice out hit LSU all over the board.

As for NC State/Coastal Carolina they got to the top of the 9th with NC State winning 5-3, AND THE RAIN HITS. So now they are in a delay and I mean they call it for tomorrow since it's coming on 1am there local time in Raleigh. And as I'm typing this they come out and say the game is SUSPENDED so tomorrow it goes as well.

So now all 3 games will be played tomorrow:

NC State/Coastal Carolina. Will resume game at 1pm CENTRAL
LSU/Rice (winner take all). Will play the final game at 4pm CENTRAL
South Carolina/UNC-Wilmington. Will play at 1pm CENTRAL

It was a one time deal back in the '70s. It was one of Bill Veek's stunts.

Yep, remember those well and hated them. Veek was awesome with promotions and for the younger crowd you need to google "Disco Demolition night at Comiskey".

That went as well as the Indians' 10 cent beer night.
