I don't think we'll be offering a scholarship to the kicker in this class. Probably will do a preferred walk on.

If we can figure out that new fangled forward pass thing, we might not need to kick a lot of field goals.

Not RTO, but to me the way this transpired seems like he simply had a change of heart. Just a couple of weeks ago he was strong to us. Didn't make a parade out of his recruitment. I think as signing day approached things got real and he wanted to stay closer to home. Of course I have nothing to base this on, just a gut feeling.

Need to get him offer him a walk on spot if he does what we need him to give him a scholarship next year.

I wonder why he wouldn't at least get a preferred walk-on offer, but I haven't seen his kicks. HS kicking is very different than college.

I think they still allow a tee in High school, at least in Alabama. But I wonder whether the presence or absence of a tee, or maybe the height of the tee, varies among states.

Anybody know?

Do we do any camps exclusively for punters and kickers, and wine and dine them while they are here? We've got to do something different to attract and retain more elite talent at this position.
