We've all seen the well publicized decommits since Coach Goff was hired. It happens with every coaching change regardless of the sport. No big deal. For those of you in the know, what new prospects are the new staff going after? What have the other commits been saying? Does it appear any returnees will transfer out?

Good question. I too would like to know that as well. Baseball recruiting is tough to follow it doesn't get all the news that basketball and foozball get. Unless you wanna pay I guess.

I understand guys getting upset about losing a coach who they have built a relationship with, but if they would just take a deep breath they would realize that the staff we have hired is a high-quality group who will do a very good job at developing their talent and that here they will be part of a program on the rise.

Our coach was just named COY by the coaches association for the mid-South region. Not too shabby, methinks.

Just the nature of the beast. We just picked up a high school kid because of his prior relationship with Goff. Don't really know much about this guy other than perfectgame has him as the 5th best OF in Tennessee with a PG grade of 8 (which they list as a "Potential draft pick and/or excellent college prospect"). Also has him with a 29 on the GPA, so he should be able to get a pretty penny in academic scholarship money too.

"Logan Carey is a 2016 OF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Jackson, TN who attends University School Of Jackson. Medium frame, lean build, projects well physically. Polished hitter with short compact mechanics, simple well controlled repeatable swing, easy bat speed, good extension, accelerates hands well, power potential with strength development. Creates late lift and leverage in swing and extends well through contact, showed pop to all fields in game at-bats. Good footwork defensively, moves well, long arm action. Excellent student. Named to the Southeast Underclass Top Prospect Team."
