Jefferson climbed two spots and Oconee County cracked the top 10 in the Class 4A football poll. The polls were released by the Georgia Sports Writers Association Tuesday.
Jefferson (3-1) is ranked sixth after shutting out Flowery Branch 33-0 Friday. The Dragons host Gainesville Friday at 7:30 p.m. Oconee County (4-0) nabbed the 10th spot in the poll after a 28-10 win over Cedar Shoals. The Warriors hosts Eastside at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Madison County began receiving votes after a 4-0 start.
Commerce and Prince Avenue Christian swapped spots in the Class A poll. Both teams were off last week. Commerce (3-0) dropped to fourth. The Tigers visits Athens Christian at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Prince Avenue Christian (4-0) moved into the No. 3 spot. The Wolverines visits George Walton Academy Friday. Prince Avenue Christian hosts Commerce on Sept. 30.
