7 of Bama's starting 11 on defense have scored a TD so far this year.

DE: Jonathan Allen (75 yd fumble return)

NT: Da'Ron Payne (3 yd fumble return)

DE: Dalvin Tomlinson

OLB: Tim Williams (23 yd fumble return)

OLB: Ryan Anderson

MLB: Reuben Foster

MLB: Shaun Dion Hamilton

CB: Marlon Humphrey (18yd pick 6)

CB: Minkah Fitzpatrick (100 yd pick 6)

SS: Eddie Jackson (55yd pick 6)

FS: Ronnie Harrison (55 yd fumble return)
7 out of 11 starting lineup? I looked on al.com for depth chart and I see this:
Defense
DE: Jonathan Allen, Da'Shawn Hand
NT: Da'Ron Payne, Joshua Frazier
DE: Dalvin Tomlinson, Dakota Ball
OLB: Tim Williams, Anfernee Jennings/Terrell Hall
OLB: Ryan Anderson, Christian Miller/Jamey Mosley
MLB: Reuben Foster, Rashaan Evans, Mack Wilson
MLB: Shaun Dion Hamilton, Keith Holcombe
Star: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Shyheim Carter
CB: Marlon Humphrey, Anthony Averett
CB: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Shyheim Carter
SS: Eddie Jackson, Hootie Jones
FS: Ronnie Harrison, Deionte Thompson

It looks like Anthony Averett is only one who hasn't had an opportunity.

Seriously ... that's just down right scary. And the amazing thing is, they have an opportunity to do even better. They have to keep the mentality that they want to BE the best defense verses thinking that they ARE the best defense already. Kind of what CNS alluding to about building dynasties ... the more you star thinking about being at the top, the easier it is to position yourself for a fall. Here's hoping the stay focused and dedicate themselves to dominating week in and week out.

Not sure what you're saying. ALA2262 is saying that of the 11 "starters" on defense, 7 have scored a TD this season. Averett doesn't appear to be listed as a starter. ALA2262 lists all the TDs attributed to the starters (one each, anyway). Tomlinson, Anderson, Foster, and Hamilton are the only defensive starters to not have one yet.

Since October. 2015; Bama has scored 19 non-offensive TD's. The next closest team is 9.

Which begs the question - Is Michigan for real? Or smoke and mirrors? Think ole Meyer and the Bucks put them in their place?

Stanford needs to stop touting their academic standards and work on some offense.
They were severely exposed, early, to a national audience and put all Christian for Heisman hopes to rest. After hearing ESPN radio going with the narrative that he was robbed, I was pleased. Slow.

So 3 of the top 5 defensive units in the last 10 seasons (up to week 6) are being fielded this season alone? Something fishy with that data.. Something something "today's offenses", something something "scheduling", I don't know why but I have a funny feeling about that stat. Highly impressive seeing our name on there twice though, I hope this ride never slows down!

Not really that surprising, considering the type of teams that are usually on the schedule in the first half of the season.

Edit: actually it says it adjusts for strength of schedule, so who knows?
