The Georgia football team donned shorts and shoulder pads for its Tuesday off work practice with some players working at new positions and one injured starter wearing a non-contact jersey.
Wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie was spotted in the aforementioned black jersey. No word on what his injury might be but he appeared to be practicing. The SEC Network reported during Saturday's loss to Vanderbilt that McKenzie had injured his left arm, but he finished the game and got the last carry on fourth down.
Starting offensive guard Lamont Gaillard was practicing in a regular jersey after leaving the loss to Vanderbilt with a back injury. Backup Kendall Baker was on the side early in practice.
Cornerback Deandre Baker (ankle) wasn’t spotted with the defensive backs.
“Deandre is still rehabbing,” coach Kirby Smart said earlier in the day. “He was able to jog yesterday. He was not able to go full-speed. He will go as he can today, I’m not sure if he’ll be able to do everything.”
Michael Barnett was in jersey No. 52 and working at offensive tackle after moving from the defensive line. He was working with Tyler Catalina and Isaiah Wynn among others.
Shakenneth Williams, after moving from wide receiver, was with the defensive backs.
Tae Crowder was with the inside linebackers, but Natrez Patrick and Roquan Smith were still working with the ones.
