2A Washington County forfeits their 1st round playoff win vs Samson and Samson is back in the playoffs. Now Elba hosts instead of going on the road this weekend.

What was the reason for the forfeit?

    Re: 2016 AHSAA-AISA Football Playoffs

Now we have more drama. Samson and Washington County filed orders this week to play the playoff game in question, and now we must wait on the Alabama Supreme Court to rule on the matter. So now Samson @ Elba cannot be played until the Supreme Court decides if Samson is in or if Washington County is in the playoffs and poor ol Elba can't do anything but wait.

I imagine an order will come out Monday and this game will be played Monday night no matter who plays, or Tuesday at the latest.

Rumor is it involves a kid on the team that was suspended for 3 or 4 games to start the year, he came back for one game and then had to go off to juvenile hall for 28 days for whatever he done to get the 3-4 game suspension. So he missed more games and came back for Washington County's last regular season game and played in it and the first round playoff game. So the AHSAA is saying the kid did not make a bonafide move into the district and was ineligible, but in fairness to Washington County the kid never really left the district which would mean WC is still the school he is supposed to go to. There is another rule the AHSAA used to but I forget it off the top of my head right now as it's late. This one could get tricky and Washington County could actually be reinstate over this, but this is simply my opinion and mine only.

All these private schools in lower divisions grinds my gears. It's a load of bull crap. One year my alma mater played Madison Academy and they had two D-1 power conference tailbacks on their team. What kind of 3A/4A team has more than 1 SEC/ACC caliber tailback in a decade. It is crap and it shouldn't happen in leagues for public schools. All these rich daddies and mommas should just pony up so marks to take their lumps they can feel good about their 'crooted teams.

Aliceville has been known to have some good teams though.

Gordo gets beat 21-14. If they had won. All 3 teams from Pickens County would have been in championship games.

Fyffe is going to be hard to beat though. They put a beatdown on two good teams in Lafayette and Lanett. Both teams are some of the fastest teams in 2A

Had some good games this year. I think the surprising team was Handley, they beat Madison Academy down like they stole from them.
