In perhaps the most literal example yet of the Fox guarding the henhouse, Trump has asked Rupert Murdoch to pick the next FCC chair. #maketheswampgreatagain

Lots of things, but one, the media doesn't get him at all, and the gap between Trump and the media is so Yuge that I expect some twist from Trump relative to how a president communicates with the people. He seems to thrive on the being the center of attention. not sure what he will do, but I doubt he let's the media control his message. "Media, You're fired." Expect some escalation of tension between him and the media. They already hate him, and he distrusts them, and there won't even be a honeymoon, and he gets antsy and goes rogue. Bad media and bad trump are faces of the same coin, but it will get bad and then authoritarian. PS -- I think this was the general direction despite Trump. Obama was very evasive as President and Hillary is down right manipulative. But since the media actually hates The Donald, they will be more relentless, so the pot boils over faster.

And here is a twist: https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/...-briefings-from-west-wing-to-accommodate-more

The incoming Trump administration is considering moving White House press briefings out of the West Wing to accommodate more than the “Washington media elite,” President-elect Donald Trump’s press secretary said.

“This is about greater accessibility, more people in the process,” Sean Spicer said Sunday on Fox News Channel’s “Media Buzz.” Involving more people, including bloggers and others who aren’t from the mainstream media, “should be seen as a welcome change,” he said.
Spicer and other Trump officials said no decisions had been made.
Their comments followed a report Saturday by Esquire, citing unidentified officials from the transition team, that the new administration may move the press corps out of the main White House building altogether because of antagonism between Trump and the media.

Trump vows ‘insurance for everybody’ in Obamacare replacement plan

https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...3375f271c9c_story.html?utm_term=.23091f4ae316

“We’re going to have insurance for everybody,” Trump said. “There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it. That’s not going to happen with us.” People covered under the law “can expect to have great health care. It will be in a much simplified form. Much less expensive and much better.”

Hopefully, this will be like Medicare for all rather than like a Russian health care that Trump concocted with Putin.

GOP politician arrested after grabbing a woman in her genital area

A local Connecticut Republican politician has been arrested for allegedly grabbing a female in the groin area without her consent.

According to the Wesport Daily Voice, Greenwich Representative Town Meeting board member Christopher von Keyserling was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and was released on $2,500 bond. He’s due to appear in court on January 25.

In December of 2016, Keyserling engaged in a “political argument” with a woman and allegedly declared, “I love this new world. I no longer have to be politically correct.” As the woman turned to walk away, Keyserling reportedly reach from behind and placed his hand between her legs and pinched on or near her genital area...

Keyserling’s lawyer defended his actions as being a simple “jocular” moment with the woman. “In almost 30 years of practicing law in this town, I would say Mr. von Keyserling is the one person I would never suspect of having any inappropriate sexual predilections,” lawyer Phil Russell said to the Greenwich Time. “There was a playful gesture, in front of witnesses. It was too trivial to be considered anything of significance. To call it a sexual assault is not based in reality.”

After reviewing a surveillance video of the incident, police determined that its contents were consistent with the woman’s claims.

Remember, very early on

"We like Donald Trump because he isn't a politician and is so rich he can't be bought"

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/01/donald-trump-cabinet-dinner-233721

Deep-pocketed donors face a decision on Wednesday night: whether to dine with the Vice President-elect at the National Portrait Gallery, or enjoy an "intimate policy discussion" with incoming Cabinet appointees at an exclusive dinner at the Library of Congress.

The closed-door events, just two of many being held during inauguration week, were double-scheduled by planners. “It’s all messed up, they have the cabinet dinner and the V.P. dinner on the same night at the same time,” said a top donor of President-elect Donald Trump, who's torn over which to attend.

The cost of admission for the Cabinet dinner is included in a package for either $100,000 or $250,000 to the presidential inaugural committee, while dinner with Vice President-elect Mike Pence is open to donors and corporate underwriters at the $500,000 and $1 million-level as part of multi-day itineraries, with the level of access determined by the amount of cash given, according to inauguration brochures obtained by POLITICO.
