CFP top 25, week 11

I'm glad someone sees that other than me. Louisville is right where they belong as well. They have struggled week in and out against vastly inferior competition but nobody seems to catch that.
I wish the committee would punish teams harder for losing to a Non-Ranked barely above .500 team. Yeah we have had 3 NC Title seasons in a row with 1 loss. But those losses were to #1 LSU who finished #2, #15 Tamu who finished #5, and #15 Ole Miss who finished #9/10.

But Michigan losing to NR 5-4 Iowa and Clemson losing to NR 5-4 Pitt and BOTH teams staying in the Top 4?? Come on man....get out of here with that hot mess.

You have to weigh both wins and losses - every game and outcome. You are only looking at losses. If you also look at wins, you will see why these teams might be ranked higher (or at least see how someone else might rank them higher).

Yeah all of the talking heads are hitched to the Lamar Jackson train. The only ones who bring this fact up are, Finebaum, Galloway, and McFarland.

Maybe that's fair. But the losses are sooooo egregious they should carry some extra weight. At least make the 2 teams sweat for a few weeks. They like to stir the pot anyway. I thought they would go:

1) Alabama - Undefeated
2) Ohio State - 1 loss on the road to a Top 10 team
3) Louisville - 1 loss on the road to a Top 5 team but weaker schedule that tOSU
4) Washington -1 loss to a Top 15 team
5) Michigan - 1 loss to a NR 5-4 team on the road
6) Clemson - 1 loss to a NR 5-4 team AT HOME

If Michigan and Clemson really are Top 4 material make them prove it. If they win out they will leapfrog/knockout tOSU and Louisville anyway. But make them earn it back instead of getting a free pass on a horrible loss. Jmho

Ohio State has played their 3 hardest games (against teams all currently in the CFP top 10) thus far on the road and went 2-1. They've got the best resume of any team in the nation and the only roster comparable to Alabama's in terms of future pro talent.

FIFY:wink:. Oh I agree that tOSU should definitely be #2 and they will HAMMER Michigan. Our resume isn't too shabby either though. We've beaten 6 teams Ranked when we played them and 5 of which are still Ranked. 4 of those were in a row(1st time since Barn '83) and 3 of the 4 were on the road.

Alabama and tOSU are the two best teams no doubt. It would be dissapointing for either to lose in the 1st round of the playoffs because I want revenge on Urban for 2014. No offense B1G:smile:

Michigan SOS: 49, 1-0 vs top ten, 3-0 vs top 30
Louisville SOS: 64, 0-1 vs top ten, 1-1 vs top 30

And Michigan still has a road game vs Ohio State and if they win that, UM plays Wisconsin again. Hard to say they wouldn't be worthy with one loss on that schedule.

1) 'are' different

2) one has played a tougher schedule than the other

They mauled Penn State (who is in line for a title shot)
They beat Wisky
And they lost to Iowa.

I don't how you count, but that's three where I come from.

Who was overrated and lost to UNC....

Ole Miss would have beaten Alabama with another minute......

We agree their ratings are a joke, but this isn't one of them.
FSU was not #2 in the nation when they skull dragged them? Oh and I'll forget the horrible WWE personal foul no call that would likely have UL #2 now. It's fine. It's just a different opinion is all. It's also what I love about college ball.

I ain't even counting Alabama in my discussions because it is such a lock at #1 unless we screw up.

Harbaugh has built this team to beat tOSU. Don't think it will be easy either way.

Who would you put above Clemson and Michigan? That's the problem. The top 6 teams separated themselves so far that when half of them lost there wasn't anybody to move up..

Lol. No thanks. Could have typed the teams in the same space as your reply. Putting any teams above Michigan or Clemson right now is illogical..
Good Grief you asked. Is it putting you out too much to go back ONE page and read? Here...
1) Alabama - Undefeated
2) Ohio State - 1 loss on the road to a Top 10 team

Right now Clemson has a stronger schedule than Louisville. It'll level out after this weekend but h2h matters in my eyes. Can't put Louisville above Clemson unless Clemson catches another L.

No way you should have Louisville ahead of Clemson. Clemson has had a tougher schedule and they won head to head. Just looking at the record, I know the Pit wins and lost record looks bad, but if you dive in you will see that team is not as bad as their record says. They had two tough out of conference games won one lost one. They lost to NC by one point, VT by a field goal. The one bad loss they have is to Miami. The schedule did them no favor They had two tough out of conference games back to back. Pen State they won than next week Ok State they lost by a touch down. Another thing in Clemsons favor they always play a couple SEC schools in their out of conference schedule each year with SC their rivalry game. Teams should be rewarded for playing tough competition. If OK had not been curb stomped by Ohio State they would get some credit for scheduling that game.

Oh I see. You judge teams by who has the "best loss" and completely discount comparing wins between the teams. Michigan and Clemson crush Louisville and Washington in resume and body of work. That's according to the committee and the old BCS formula.

The fact Florida State was overrated does not constitute an argument in favor of Louisville.

Plus, you can't have it both ways.

You can't say, "Louisville beats FSU and that counts" and then turn right around and say, "But Clemson beating Louisville doesn't."

Furthermore - once again - too many people are getting all caught up in the gaudy offensive numbers of Louisville. This happened in 2008, when Oklahoma had five straight games of 60-plus points.

They got 14 against Florida.

And I reiterate: Michigan has played a tougher schedule than Louisville, plain and simple. Louisville might have an argument if they'd beaten Clemson, but they didn't.
