I think fraud, if it does occur probably occurs at registration, by absentee ballot and failure to purge dead people. The numbers of people commiting fraud is minisule IMO.

31 confirmed cases out of a billion votes. Fraud probably more common in very small locall areas.

I don't think the country of California has been counted yet. I hear the numbers there are in the millions.

1.3M votes is a lot of illegal votes. That's roughly 12% of the illegal immigrant population, which would indicate a significant systemic issue in the registration process.
This is ridiculous and you're just enjoying the argument. There is no evidence that illegal voters reached anything like a million, with today's voting restrictions. It's not worth discussing, although I know you'll continue. And continue...

To be clear, I am making no argument that there were illegal votes in the 2016 presidential election. I am simply exploring how much "error" in the process people are willing to tolerate.

It's rich ( :) ) that he exempted three countries from the ban - Egypt, Turkey and Saudi (home of 9/11). One wonders why. Oh, there are Trump Towers and golf courses in all three. It's so transparent it's sickening...

and useless, CATO study

https://www.cato.org/blog/little-national-security-benefit-trumps-executive-order-immigration

This is a response to a phantom menace. From 1975 to the end of 2015, 20 refugees have been convicted of attempting or committing terrorism on U.S. soil, and only three Americans have been killed in attacks committed by refugees—all in the 1970s. Zero Americans have been killed by Syrian refugees in a terrorist attack on U.S. soil. The annual chance of an American dying in a terrorist attack committed by a refugee is one in 3.6 billion. The other 17 convictions have mainly been for aiding or attempting to join foreign terrorists.

President Trump tweeted earlier this week that executive orders were intended to improve national security by reducing the terrorist threat. However, a rational evaluation of national security threats is not the basis for Trump’s orders, as the risk is fairly small but the cost is great. The measures taken here will have virtually no effect on improving U.S. national security.
but whatever, it makes the little snowflakes feel safer from that scary brown menace

and we are turning our back on braves Iraqi's who risked their lives to work with the US and lawful greencard holders from coming back to the US from family visits abroad. This is disgusting and shameful.

Not sure what Donald's twitter tantrum is about today, but apparently the NYT is "fake news" and the WaPo coverage has been "false and angry." Sigh.

ACLU files suit. Iraqis who helped US military denied entry.

The lead plaintiffs were detained by the U.S. government and threatened with deportation – even though they have valid visas to enter the United States.

One plaintiff, Hameed Khalid Darweesh, worked for the U.S. military. His life was in danger in his home country due to that relationship. A former Obama administration official and platoon commander during the invasion of Iraq said on Twitter yesterday that Mr. Darweesh "spent years keeping U.S. soldiers alive in combat in Iraq."

The family of the other plaintiff, Haider Sameer Abdulkhaleq Alshawi, was also threatened because of perceived ties to the United States. His wife and 7-year-old son are lawful permanent residents living in Houston, Texas and were eagerly awaiting his arrival. Mr. Alshawi’s son has not seen his father for three years.

so, this appears to be happening all around the country ajc link

Federal immigration authorities on Saturday were detaining three lawful permanent residents from Iran at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, citing one of President Trump’s latest executive orders, according to several of their relatives and an immigration attorney who is working with them.

A father, mother and their 10-year-old daughter from Suwanee were being held after returning from trips to their native country. Another woman from Alpharetta was released after being detained. All had green cards.

Reed Hastings

Trump's actions are hurting Netflix employees around the world, and are so un-American it pains us all. Worse, these actions will make America less safe (through hatred and loss of allies) rather than more safe. A very sad week, and more to come with the lives of over 600,000 Dreamers here in a America under imminent threat. It is time to link arms together to protect American values of freedom and opportunity.
