I may disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure you're not Hitler.

Yessir, same here. By the way, Rose Towers (torn down a few years ago) was really nice back then. Lived there part of '72.

I know, I watched a video of the explosion. We were on 8th floor with a good view of the barges on the Black Warrior. Good place to be in the day.

Careful. Many people asked that same question about us 10 years ago. Remember the comments of, "no coach worth anything would take the Bama job."

You get the right person, with the right vision, and everyone buying in, any red blood program can go on a great stretch.

Well I never said they couldn't. However unlike Alabama, Tennessee has not had any probation or scholarship limitations crippling their program yet they still have been in a black hole.

I'm not saying it can't happen, because given the right coach and AD, it could.

They do have one problem that no true blue-blood program (other than Notre Dame) has...their home state simply doesn't play the quality of high school football necessary to sustain championship performance over time.

When Saban first came to Tuscaloosa, he locked down the state. Now, having firmly established the premier program in CFB, he cherry-picks Alabama's high schools and recruits nationwide.

Saban does it because he can. The arnge would do it because they have to. Big difference.
You can't reason a man out of a position he didn't reason himself into.

I don't remember. I posted it on Facebook back in 2008.

I could happen. Tennessee is a rapidly growing state with a rabid fan base. It's the 17th most populous state and is a "football" state.

High school football, contrary to popular opinion, is very big in Tennessee. Locking down the state would be easy for a good football program. While there are not as many recruits in TN as AL there is no Auburn to compete with.

If Nick Saban decided to go to Knoxville, we'd be in trouble.

Any program with money and strong fanbase support can become an elite power with the right coach. Absolutely no reason the right coach couldn't turn around Tennessee and make them National Title contenders.
