Tide to play nine games on SEC Network, two on ESPN family of networks

12/14/2016

TUSCALOOSA, AL
– The Alabama baseball team will play 11 nationally televised games during the 2017 season, the league office announced on Wednesday morning. The Crimson Tide will be featured nine times on the SEC Network and one time on ESPN2 and ESPNU.

Beginning on March 14, ESPN networks will combine to carry a total of 98 Southeastern Conference baseball games, 75 of which air on the SEC Network.

The Crimson Tide's television schedule begins with opening night of Southeastern Conference play on Friday, March 17, with the Bases Loaded coverage, featuring every SEC team in a live compilation of seven games on the SEC Network. Alabama and Missouri are scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. CT first pitch and are part of the second time slot for start times that night.

Alabama's final two games of opening weekend against Missouri will also air on SEC Network, with Saturday's game set for a 1 p.m. CT start and Sunday's series finale set to begin at noon. Next up will be the MAX Capital City Classic matchup with Auburn on March 28. The non-conference pairing between the two rivals in Montgomery is set for a 7 p.m. CT start on ESPNU.

The Tide will next be featured when Alabama hosts Arkansas from March 31-April 2. The final two games of the series will be televised on SEC Network, with Saturday's matchup set for a 7 p.m. CT start and Sunday's series finale scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. CT. Following the pair of games against the Razorbacks, Alabama's series finale in Oxford against Ole Miss on Sunday, April 9, will be seen on SEC Network and is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT.

Another road game on SEC Network follows for the Crimson Tide, as Alabama and Mississippi State's series opener set for Thursday, April 20, is slated for a 6 p.m. CT first pitch. The Tide will then be featured on ESPN2 in the series opener against LSU on Thursday, April 27. The matchup with the Tigers is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. CT start.

Alabama will next be seen nationally when the Tide travels to Auburn. The final game of the weekend on May 7 with the Tigers is set to start at 4 p.m. CT on SEC Network. The Crimson Tide's final nationally televised game of the regular season comes on Sunday, May 14, as Alabama and Florida will play on the SEC Network with a 3 p.m. CT first pitch.

This year's schedule also includes five television wildcard selections, allowing the SEC Network the opportunity to determine the best television matchup at a later date. The schedule closes out with the SEC Network airing the entirety of the 2017 SEC Baseball Tournament from May 23-27, outside of the Championship game on ESPN2 on May 28.
