LOL! Bowden looked pretty overwhelmed at halftime, didn't he!!A lot of them thought that same thing back in 2008 until they got hit in the mouth.

What is it with Orlando and Tampa and their sod?Same opinion here, this game is a coinflip...will come down to which team comes out loose and which staff helps put their players in the best position to win. Field may play a factor...Tampa's bowl games have been notoriously bad-field historically and they had a game there just days prior.
At the end of Monday night -- what's the more likely headline....We know what we're preparing for, they don't.
I dunno, but I'd rather have this game in Detroit on Ford Field under a cover with a turf field than playing on grass in Florida under the elements in January. Personally, I think every national title game should be in a dome...it takes away weather elements and field weirdness from a winner-take-all game. What is it with Orlando and Tampa and their sod?
You're right, but it still ticks me off. And it shows a lack of appreciation for what it takes to be a champion. Win the game, earn the respect, then talk about it. That's how it should be done. All the same, it doesn't matter if Clemson respects us
You just said exactly what my wife said - and it is why we are not going. I think her exact words were "we are not going to pay $1,000 for tickets plus travel to potentially sit in the rain to watch a game. Why isn't a national championship game in a dome?"I dunno, but I'd rather have this game in Detroit on Ford Field under a cover with a turf field than playing on grass in Florida under the elements in January. 100% agree. A neutral site game for a NC should come with neutral weather. And there is no way to predict the wacky weather in FL.I dunno, but I'd rather have this game in Detroit on Ford Field under a cover with a turf field than playing on grass in Florida under the elements in January. I'm not so sure that JH can't throw. Can he do what LK was asking him to do the last half of the season? Obviously not. That having been said, if Sark and Bama get back to doing the things and game planning with what JH can do well we can do well enough to win. Our defense is good enough to keep Clemson from scoring a lot of points. In my opinion, if we just get the ball into our playmaker's hands and let them make plays instead of constantly going for the homerun we can certainly win. We keep CU's offense on the sidelines and they can't score on us.I can see why they would say that. We can't throw the ball. Make Jalen throw and limit him like Washington did and shut our offense down. They are a complete team and #4 can make all the throws and he can run. They have a strong receiving corps and have a slasher for a RB. We are increasingly more one dimensional as teams figure out Jalen can't throw. If the defense gets tired and the game gets to a point where our D suspects the game is out of hand, it could get a little lopsided. Having said all that, I believe it will be close but I sure can't blame Clemson fans for thinking that given the sloppy offensive performance and Jalen's lack of progression at other QB spot this year.
Central FL has a water table of only a few feet, on average. The ground is borderline soaked all the time. Add in the almost daily afternoon thunderstorms that form as the warm gulf air moves east and meets the cooler Atlantic air and you have wet ground...What is it with Orlando and Tampa and their sod?
Watching the bowl game there on Saturday, they said that all new sod was being put in for the Championship game. I hope they are magicians because how firm can you get new sod in a week. What is it with Orlando and Tampa and their sod?
Good question. I've seen some horrendous games played under those conditions...Watching the bowl game there on Saturday, they said that all new sod was being put in for the Championship game. I hope they are magicians because how firm can you get new sod in a week.
I kept waiting for several things we've done to counteract what they were doing but they just never came. What came was more weirdness. We've all worried, and rightly so, about Sark's sobriety, but, TBF, several times Saturday night, I found myself questioning if he were all there...I'm not 100% on the technical terminology but we called a ton of play actions with no TE or H-B coming across the formation or directly off the line to the backside flats. This had been a staple all year that worked to temper teams blitzing or playing contain to the backside on play actions. It seemed like every play action was an attempt to get a chunk yardage play despite supposedly it being our gameplan to not create many 50/50 ball situations against those DBs. It is hard to say because so little was done route and formation wise to temper blitzes and contains into the roll out that maybe we were trying to drag a receiver across the formation downfield but it couldn't develop.
People want to count us down and out because Saban canned Kiffin but pure and simple we'd lose as bad as Ohio State did against them if he coached the national title game. There was a trend and the trend line was precipitously downward over the last few games.
This will be a different game than last year bank on it! As you said the game against Washington seemed like Bama playing a FCS game sputtering before putting the game away as everyone expected. Of course it was only the offense that sputtered, the defense only gave up less than 200 total yards to Washington who if memory serves me correctly was ranked like #4 in the nation offensively. All I have heard about on ESPN is how Clemson only gave up a little over 200 total yards to Ohio State! The defense showed up to play against Washington!Honestly, the UW game almost felt like one of the FCS games Bama plays each year. Now before any Huskies get their knickers in a bunch I'm not saying UW is an FCS school. It just seemed as if Bama was going through the motions, not executing crisply, and some just out talenting the player opposite them. The team never got in sync offensively and it showed up as a sloppy performance. That said, you could tell they felt in control from start to finish.
Something tells me we will see a different animal next week.
Feels a lot like 2011 to me. Bama was the better team but lost. Like many have said, the defense felt like they let the team down last year. They even said as much. I think they wanted the rematch more than Clemson did.
