I would not be surprised if OSU passes us on the team rankings this year and finishes #1. That said, anything can happen this last month and perhaps the whooping they received hurt some. But, they are basically in position to sign every 5 star DB possible.
UGA is having a darn good year, but Richt had many darn good years too. Can Smart develop more than Richt? Year 1 did not convince me of that, but between year 1 and 2 will tell the story.
FSU is having a sneaky good year and have two 5-stars already on campus. $100 handshake weekend is still ahead, too. That said, can the distractions be limited to have a consistent year there?
USCw should finish strong. They are in on a lot of good undecideds and Oregon did not make a splash hire. They should close with who they want.
UT is ranked 11th, but they have 21 3-stars. A very Shula-esque class, IMO.
UF is a strange case to me. Maybe they finish strong, but they are losing a lot of good players and this class does not jump out to me at all. They will have to make some gains down the stretch.
AU is going to lose their highest rated commit (the OT) to Maryland. But all you will hear about is Stidham. For all the DL praise they get, they have only one 3 star DT committed.
As for us, really it seems to be down to the following players:
Solomon
Ray
Parks
D. Smith
Ruggs
Kinlaw
Mathis
As of right now, I would say we feel good about them all....but the numbers will not allow all.
Solomon, Ray, and Parks are takes. Kinlaw and Mathis are a question right now. I think we would take Kinlaw. Getting Buggs solved a large problem here.
I have heard both Ruggs and Smith are takes, but I have a hard team seeing that based on numbers. Plus, Smith has been pro-Bama so long, I don't know why he has waited.
I think Harris sticks.
Would not be surprised to see Dean not be a part of this class. Have heard rumblings Byers might not make it academically. Brannon will show up when we tell him to....good kid.
