Today on Sirius radio, Mark Packer asked Danny Ford to discuss the biggest coaching advice he ever got from Coach Bryant. For those who don't know, Danny Ford won the national title at Clemson in 1981.
He said, "Coach Bryant always told us as a team, 'We win, I lose'."
He explained that if the team won a game Coach Bryant gave the players all the credit.
If the team lost, then Bryant took total responsibility for not having the team properly prepared.
So Ford was talking about a four game losing streak as Clemson's head coach. He said, "I kept telling the media that I lost the game".
He further elaborated, "After losing those four games, Frank Howard walked into my office and said, "You don't need to say that anymore, EVERYBODY believes you"
