It's hard to fathom a 15-point home loss for LSU (9-7 overall, 1-4 in the SEC) as being a moral victory. But compared to some of the Tigers' dead-on-arrival performances as of late, a little defense and hustle gave LSU an extended glimmer of hope against a team that entered the game 12th in the 14-team SEC in field goal percentage.
