I do not know if a full time coach is needed, but isn't there any way to get the kickers and punters some help? The Tide's never seem to improve much, while some of our rivals (Auburn and Tennessee at least when they had the Colquitts coming up) seem to have a more reliable kicking game that Bama does. What do they do that Bama does not?
Bama has been one of the top 5 punting teams in the nation the past 5 years - far, far better than AU. It is right at the average in place kicking the last 9 years. And that's with Bama likely trying many more long FGs than most. IIRC, Bama has not missed a game winning/tying FG under Saban (except a 58 yarder). Even Griffith has been good and clutch the 2nd half of most seasons. Shelley was a Groza semi finalist and was 44-55 in his 3 year career, far above the national average. I'm not sure where some get their info.
