Hello again Tide fans, Razorback fan here. I am clueless about which Arkansas team will play against Alabama this week. The way the Tide played against Georgia and Mississippi State was scary-good.

Arkansas is coming off a terrible performance at Stillwater, really bad in every aspect of the game. With Alabama 6-2 and Arkansas 5-3 in the conference, this seems like an important game.

Being named SEC preseason player of the year completely rattled Moses Kingsley, Arkansas's starter at the five. Kingsley has struggled all season.

Coach Mike Anderson is afraid to start his five best players, because it doesn't seem to matter who the starters are, they struggle and must be bailed out by the bench.

Arkansas's two best outside shooters, Dusty Hannahs and Daryl Macon, have missed something like their last 18 3-point shots. The Hogs were rough on the offensive end in the past two games, which were against very shabby defenses.

Alabama is a great defensive team that relies a lot on two freshmen and doesn't have much good depth at guard. Against a usual Arkansas team that might be bad news, but this Arkansas team can't play defense. If you look at some stats, you'll see.

The Hogs do not force many turnovers and don't make up for it with defensive rebounding. Not very good at contesting jump shots either. The team has won 16 games by scoring great at times, outscoring people not getting a lot of stops. Arkansas's best against teams that foul a lot on defense. The guards can attack the basket and get to the line. The team makes 76% of its free throws.

You might be in trouble if the Hogs suddenly figure out how to make a bunch of threes. Otherwise, it should be a really close-fought game. Here's to no injuries.

I think Bama is about the same level as Arkansas but I don't know how the positions match up. If Arkansas has a physical inside scorer Alabama will probably struggle to stop him. I think Bama has improved a few notches lately including the inside players but it is hard to tell based on competition and match-ups. Winning road games is big though no matter who Bama is playing.

You mention Arkansas doesn't force turnovers; the good news for the Hogs is Bama turns the ball over unforced quite often. Home court advantage makes this one tough for Alabama. Bama has shot terrible at the free throw line for most of the season but probably won the home game vs MSU due to hitting them so well.

Bama should keep within striking distance with good defense if they can keep from going into a long scoring drought like they do almost every game and if some key players can stay out of foul trouble. There have been many games when Alabama went for very long time periods without scoring or at least no scoring field goals and there have been many games when the better players have picked up early fouls.
