Love to discuss all the position changes before spring ball and then afterwards. We look to be stacked at every position and hopefully will stay that way.

Elliott Baker didn't come to be a third string OL. He is going to fight hard for the RT spot... Or LT if the staff feels Jonah is best suited to stay at RT.

Bulovas is taking a blueshirt this year, so he most likely won't play. I've seen differing interpretations of the rule on blueshirts.

Agreed. Leatherwood is a good one but Baker has the experience factor that may give him the spot. Cotton was a starter some of the year at RG and may be there again this year.

Dylan Moses was the #1 OLB in the nation so he may end up at Jack or Sam instead of Will but with his speed and instincts he may end up in the middle.

The entire point of a blueshirt is to have them play now, under scholarship, but not have the scholarship count until the following year. If he doesn't play immediately, it will be Saban's choice, not a result of the rule. The rule allows him to play immediately and has been used that way consistently in college football.

Bylaw 15.5.6.3.3 A student-athlete not recruited (per Bylaw 15.02.8) by the institution who receives institutional financial aid (based in any degree on athletics ability) after beginning football practice becomes a counter but need not be counted as an initial counter until the next academic year if the institution has reached its initial limit for the year in question. However, the student-athlete shall be considered in the total counter limit for the academic year in which the aid was first received.
So he would count toward the 85 immediately, but would not count toward the 25 until 2018.

Thanks. I've seen some say a blueshirt can't play and others saying they can. What doesn't make sense to me is the fact he and Brannon will count to the 85 total, which means the scholarships are available (or will become available). We've had enough guys enroll early that either one or both players should be able to earn a scholarship for the 2017 class.

I've worked on it from time to time just waiting for national signing day to get here so I could wrap it up. I did it on excel but couldn't figure out how to attach it that way. One of my favorite things is just seeing who we have and who the next possible guys might be.

Totally agree my thoughts were he might need to catch up to the speed of the SEC first. I think I read where he was an extremely late bloomer in football. He also seems a little on the lanky side compared to Leatherwood who is a straight beast in size. RG is the most hard to project in my opinion. So many options there to fill out the line with the best 5.

I love this! Few things I would like to point out from my observations:
Wide receiver you left out Robert Foster and Falkins. We've heard rumors that they might leave the team, but until they do so, we need to include them and project Foster in two deep rotation.

TE- I don't think I ever seen this many TE on the roster and that suggest that will never go away for a while. I wonder if Irvin Smith or Major Tennison will play Half back spot that Fowler played in past.

OT- You left out few name and The competition is wide open, Don't count out Baker just yet.

KR/PR- That is not locked down solid. I've heard Ruggs might take the role. We'll see soon. I expect freshmen back there in the fall.

Thanks JustNeedMe81. Yeah I've heard so many rumors about Foster I honestly thought if I put him in there people would say the opposite of what you said and that I should remove him. Lol Falkins I believe was a true Senior this year but could definitely be wrong. Do you remember the name of the other OT? I only listed what was on Rolltide.com and rivals current 2017 class.

Did Robert Foster officially decide to transfer?
Thought this could have been his year with Stewart leaving.

I think that OLB projection was based on a 4-3 alignment not a 3-4. or something like our 3-3 hybrid. He played in a 4-3 in HS and split time between Will (an OLB) and Mike (ILB). When they went 4-2 most of the time he was a Will. In our scheme both of those translate to an ILB. I didn't see any highlights of him up on the LOS like an OLB in our scheme would be expected to so I think he'll likely be slated inside first.

I really really hope Foster can get himself together and start this year. He was dynamic before he got injured and has blazing speed. I hope he gives in to the "process."
