Best Bond female name: Vesper Lynd.

Worst thing about Bond movies: The villain monologuing.

Creepiest Bond: Sean Connery. (ie ..... Galore incident).

Best Bond: They haven't created him yet. If it was up to me, they would reboot the franchise (I know they just did with Craig). Reboot it completely and completely was their hands of everything that has happen in the Bonds franchise.

I am disheartened about what I have read and seen about James Bonds. This guy is not likable at all, especially the Connery version.

I'm sorry that I am THAT guy in the thread but is upsetting to find out that one of your favorite characters is a unlikable heel.
I'm guessing you're not a John Wayne fan.

Sean Connery was by far the coolest Bond. Maybe you had to be alive in the 60's to see that. The Aston Martin in Goldfinger was so unlike anything that came before it. It's still cool.

Goldfinger rates with The Godfather as two of the best guy movies ever.

    Best Bond girl: Barbara Bach

Best song: Live and Let Die

    Best henchman: Oddjob

I think I've seen all the Bond movies. Daniel Craig is amazing.

Re: What's your favorite James Bond thread

    1) Best Bond - Daniel Craig

    2) Most underrated - Timothy Dalton; The Living Daylights was a very weak script; License to Kill was very good, though.

    3) Worst Bond - Lazenby.

    4) Best Bond Movie - Casino Royale, Goldfinger

    5) Most Underrated Movie - From Russia with Love

    6) Worst Movie - Moonraker and A View to a Kill were both pretty wretched, and Die Another Day isn't far behind.

    7) Best Bond Girl - Eva Green

    8) Worst Bond Girl - Denise Richards

    9) Best Villian - Colonel Grant (From Russia with Love)

    10) Worst Villain - Max Zorim, A View to a Kill

    11) Best Song - Goldfinger/You Know My Name (Casino Royale). Honorable mention to "Surrender", from the end credits of Tomorrow Never Dies. It was supposed to be the main title, but Sony execs wanted a bigger name. The replacement, by Sheryl Crow, is ridiculously inferior.

    12) Worst Song - Die Another Day by Madonna is just flat out bad, The Writing's on the Wall (Spectre) is beyond insipid.

What's your favorite James Bond thread

I've always liked Pierce Brosnan as Bond mainly because he was Bond when I was a kid so I got the nostalgia factor going there. Similarly, Goldeneye is one of my favorite Bond films. It was the first one I saw and I played Goldeneye on N64 way too much. The World is Not Enough was pretty horrible though.

I like Craig, and I like how they decided to pull back from the campiness, but he has taken the Bond out of Bond imo. The new movies are more like James Bourne.

Best Bond I think is Sean Connery and I've always liked Rodger Moore.

I think it was Spike TV that used to have a Bond marathon New Year's Eve and I would watch loads of them with my dad and we would record them on VHS. There were always lots of Roger Moore ones for some reason, and I always enjoyed Octo.....

Best movie imo is From Russia with Love. A pretty believable mission, cool Cold War fighting between the KGB and the Budapest Station Chief and his infinite sons, a gypsie chickfight, and the triple double agents of SPECTRE.

I'm sorry, but he wasn't even the best villain in that movie.

The one that scared the living mess out of me when I saw it in the theater was Robert Davi (Franz Sanchez in "Licence to Kill"). I'm serious. I know it's a movie, but he had me absolutely petrified.

The second one was Scaramanga (the late Christopher Lee). And Telly was pretty good in OHMSS - the worst Bond film ever.

Ranking The Bond Movies (not including Spectre - this is from years ago)

    1) Goldfinger
    2) The Spy Who Loved Me
    3) Casino Royale (Daniel Craig version)
    4) Live And Let Die
    5) Licence to Kill
    6) From Russia With Love
    7) The Man With The Golden Gun
    8) You Only Live Twicce
    9) Skyfall
    10) GoldenEye
    11) Quantum of Solace
    12) The Living Daylights
    13) Thunderball
    14) Octomom
    15) Die Another Day
    16) The World Is Not Enough
    17) For Your Eyes Only
    18) Diamonds Are Forever
    19) Moonraker
    20) A View To A Kill
    21) Dr No
    22) On Her Majesty's Secret Service

I also thought David Hedison was an awesome Felix (although the new guy is cool, too).

Most memorable moment HAD to be the decompression elimination of Milton Krest in "Licence To Kill."

Best Bond girl was Jane Seymour (because I REALLY wanted to...)

When we were setting up for the "60 Minutes" interview in Newport Beach, the camera guys and I got to discussing Bond movies. So I was asked - which OVERALL....Bond girl, music, plot, action, movie, characters etc was the OVERALL best (this was prior to Spectre coming out)......I said my vote would be for "The Spy Who Loved Me." I think Goldfinger is a better movie, but the other elements included put Spy over the top.

They thought a minute and agreed.

I've been a fan all my life, read all the Ian Fleming books early on, and you are correct in your characterization of Bond. When reading the original Fleming novels, there is no doubt that the James Bond character is a cold, brutal man. In fact, as the first "true" Bond films started rolling out in the sixties, I remember thinking how the movies had softened Bond up from the original books.

Still, Bond is my favorite recurring movie character. Both Connery and Craig convey the ever present physical threat of that original Bond, although Craig's seems more vulnerable and introspective. Dalton was the worst, and Moore and Brosnan were a little bit too clever and suffered many poor scripts. Lazenby never had a chance to get going. It seemed fitting that we lost that Bond in the same movie he lost his wife.

#12 should be at the bottom. It was a piece of crap Bond film. No puns or other humor intended.
