The Starship Enterprise has reported lots of exoplanets. Some with green women.
As for the OP, interesting story, but it strikes me as odd that CNN has to have a story in advance of the story. Why not just wait until NASA makes their announcement and then report what was said. Why do we have to report before an event happens?

unless they present us with an actual alien being or proof we can travel to one of these Exoplanets, isn't this just boring nerds repeating this story?
