The loss of revenue is mostly driven by changing viewer habits, technology and bad conference deals. But the political frustration is real - Jason Whitlock isn't making this up.

ESPN layoffs are happening today. Supposed to impact around 100 people. 1 big name I've seen so far is Ed Werder. Said he's been laid off effective immediately. More to follow..

Greenberg from Mike and Mike I believe is also leaving, but he has a gig already lined up in New York. No major loss in my mind.
Really? I thought he was leaving the show but going to have an morning show on ESPN, possibly with Sage Steele. Might have all been speculation, though.

Judging by posts I've seen on social media, TideFans posters aren't alone.

We will be splitting NS in two, into political and non-political boards. Political posts will be prohibited on the non-political board, as they are now on Football and the other sports boards. Some posters will really struggle, those who see the entire universe as political...

What if one of my offbeat threads about a nude woman from Florida trying to have sex with a McDonald's drive through speaker turns political? ;)

Mike & Mike is the only ESPN show I watch/listen to with any regularity. I may actually miss this show, it just will not be the same with out the Mikes.

I'll go with whatever you guys decide but this seems like a bad idea splitting up a fairly small base of regular posters. Not on my original point but I was going back through the Enter at Your Own Risk thread up top the other day and it was sad seeing all the names that used to be around constantly that I never see anymore.

The Strip is already partially a ghost town. I get that there are some people that tire of the politics talk but it's easy to avoid those threads (I do it myself when I get burnt out on politics). Also it's going to suck not being able to drop a joke that references politics even if you're not trying to go political. Either way I'll get used to it and not trying to undermine any decisions by talking about it.

It's an experiment. There are more people who get burned out on the constant political harping than you know. We'll see...

Ditto. I have avoided the political threads for the most part the past few months. I'm trying to stay on the lighter side of things or things that affect us, but I doubt we would argue over - like pigs running wild in Afghanistan/Iraq kind of stuff. ;)

For what it's worth, none of us who are posting the many idiocies of the Trump administration complained or asked for safe spaces when the topic was Obama
