I really don't know who their on air talent is anymore. I never watch. I guess that's why they're all getting laid off. Most of their best talent has moved on or passed away years ago. Now, what's left are mostly robotic clones
Talent is the industry term for on air personalities.Loose use of "talent" in my book

When I think of espn I think of College sports especially football. I guess they were trying to get the pro sports and didn't payoff.I doubt they will touch the SEC network guys, but NBA and NFL and some of the other talking heads will be cut. Looks like they overpaid for NBA and NFL and forgot who their base customers are.
At this stage of the game I'm sure it's all about cutting payroll. Any personalities on the show that people actually like are probably the ones being paid the most money. They are bleeding like a stuck hawg and losing viewers hand over fist.they will most likely get rid of anyone that is even remotely interesting or good at their job. Everyone who is hated will stay.
And shock-jock wannabes. Most of their best talent has moved on or passed away years ago. Now, what's left are mostly robotic clones
Yeah...............I added the bold part! How he lined up his response was telling. He wouldn’t address the question. He was sticking his head in the sand. His response was that I was making this up. But this has reached a nexus. Will his network continue to ignore or mock the millions of Americans in flyover country, or will we work to make his networks more inviting to other points of view? Right now, he’s saying he doesn’t want us as customers.
Guess all the garbage human beings aren't real sports fans, or they would watch all that other crap, right? So, where has ESPN lost its value with subscribers? While there’s rarely ever one reason that explains the apparent collapse of a monopoly that’s dominated the sports cable world for more than a generation, ESPN hasn’t lost value with its live sports programming. The numbers for college and NBA games on the network have actually seen increases over last year.
Instead, ESPN has lost value with its commentary and opinion programming. SportsCenter’s numbers have fallen, as have the numbers on ESPN2 which frequently hosts several of the network’s most opinionated talk shows, those known for expressing their opinions on politics as much as sports.
Walton said conference of champions so many times I finally changed the channel. When was the last time that conference actually won a championship in basketball?Maybe they should start with Bill Walton, instead of Dickie V. (Politics aside, both are annoying as announcers.)

Not certain how many people watching the PAC-12 championship did so to hear a lecture about the evils of coal. This putz thinks they all did.
A good buddy is a 'Zona grad. He can go on, for hours, on why Walton makes the games unwatchable. Only a few of them have to do with his obvious UCLA bias.
I'm thinking it was Arizona in 1997 if you're referring to the PAC 12.Walton said conference of champions so many times I finally changed the channel. When was the last time that conference actually won a championship in basketball?
Whatever. Means nothing to me, but the idea of this trio being "the face of our NFL studio coverage for many years" sounds like someone has been smoking something they shouldn't have. The network is set to replace Berman with Trey Wingo, Suzy Kolber, and Samantha Ponder, the network said on Thursday.
“We have three exceptional hosts in Suzy, Sam and Trey, who will usher in this new era of NFL studio coverage on ESPN,” Stephanie Druley, ESPN Senior Vice President, Studio and Event Production, said in a network statement. “They each have a unique style and approach, yet they all share a passion for the game of football that is evident to viewers. We look forward to this group being the face of our NFL studio coverage for many years ahead on ESPN.”
After telling the Washington Post two weeks ago that he never bet on a game that he broadcasted, legendary sports announcer Brent Musburger revealed to the Chicago Tribune this week that indeed he did bet on one game back in the ’80s.
Musburger left ESPN at the beginning of the year to host “My Guys in the Desert,” a daily two-hour show on the Vegas Stats & Information Network. The show revolves around Musburger talking with bookmakers and gamblers, who according to the Post, “most of them old friends.”
That will have the lifespan of a scotch and water at bedtime at my house.Berman out............replaced by 1 dude and 2 gals.................

Wonder if Brent Mushberger can tell us the latest odds, in Vegas, on whether this lasts the entire season.
