The Atlanta chapter of ANTIFA was rallying folks on Twitter. Bet that's what the city had security concerns over.Auburn University probably just hiding behind public safety interest to avoid a PR nightmare.
He apparently reserved the space through a proxy.Whole thing still seems like a weird hoax.
Who booked this? Auburn normally lets random people book events? Did this White Students Union do this?
These ANTIFA idiots need to learn that the best weapon they have is not showing up at allHe's apparently still coming and bringing "friends." Who wants to bet it's a bunch of skinheads?
Oh, and ANTIFA in Atlanta says they're organizing too. Absolutely lovely.
Truth. These ANTIFA idiots need to learn that the best weapon they have is not showing up at all
White nationalist Richard B. Spencer has made good on a promise to visit and speak on the campus of Auburn University despite the university canceling his permit last week. Spencer won a restraining order in federal court in Montgomery, allowing him to speak on the campus as planned Tuesday night.
Both Spencer supporters and opponents are on campus at this hour where police say they've established a protest zone in front of Foy Hall. Spencer previously made news by addressing a far-right gathering where audience members gave a Nazi salute.
While Spencer speaks to a crowd inside, at least three people outside have been arrested so far for fighting in front of Foy Hall. It's not immediately clear if those arrested are supporters of Spencer or opposed to him.
I don't think any stink will linger any longer than the man's BO. AU made its preferences about the man and his message known. (Although the Federa judge, once again, show he does not understand Federalism. "Congress shall make no law ... abridging the freedom of speech" Quelle surprise)Had friends there. Went into the hall to hear him speak. Said things went to racist claptrap in a hurry as expected, nothing worth hearing. Stupider for having heard it.
Just glad crap is behind us. Will take forever to wash the stink off.
