Does it ever NOT suck to live there? .10¢ per gallon gas, .20¢ on diesel, along with higher registration fees all to fix their horrible roads (not to help pull them from the wretched state of debt.)

I'm sure this will fix it. I mean, they previously had they highest tax rate already and their roads are.......well.

Maybe they'll follow the lead of incredible states like Illinois.

"In Illinois, for example, the state’s 19-cent gas tax is supposed to be used exclusively for highway infrastructure; however, since 2003, the Illinois General Assembly has raided the special fund for highways and diverted about 25 percent of revenues to cover spending unrelated to transportation, according to the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association’s.website. California has the highest gas tax in the country, and yet its highways are among the worst, according to a story in the.Orange County Register."

I had a few job offers there recently for a job that was available in a few other states by the same company. Salary was the same at each. I let HR know that I'd expect $60k more a year to take the California position. Things went a bit downhill after that.

This is par for the course in my 21 years of being born/raised in California. Love it for its diversity in climate, people, experiences etc. Hate it for its expenses and how the government has been run. I remember when I moved out of California for school hearing a report where California was ordered by a judge to redraw its district lines due to gerrymandering. CA State Legislature said no, and to my knowledge, they never redrew the lines. I sure do miss California from time to time, but this stuff is making people leave the state in droves.
