I personally like Florida, LSU, amd North Carolina at the moment. Never rule out a team like Virginia. Oregon St obviously has the team to be able to break 1 seed curse as of late.

Would love to see Dallas Baptist do it, just don't think they can get past Virginia and TCU. That is a heck of a regional!

That time of year where I pull for all SEC teams. Including Auburn...that did hurt some...

I think the H'burg regional is wide open, but then the winner of that has to go to LSU. Still, it is the one I am most interested in.

I agree on Hattiesburg being the toughest region out of all of them. I think the top 3 seeds could all win that regional. As the favorites I would say LSU as well, their pitching is the thing that sent them through Hoover like it was nothing. If they stay hot they'll breeze through to Omaha.

Oddly enough I think Oregon State loses, but it probably won't happen until Omaha. UNC has looked hot and cold this year at times. Oral Roberts and San Diego State are my dark horses to possibly upset 1 seeds.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
Can't believe FSU lost 3-1 to Tennessee Tech. Our odds of getting out of the regional just went up tremendously. Keegan was dynamite shutting down UCF, and our bats gave their All-American ace his first loss of the year.

Debate tonight will be whether to pitch Mize tomorrow or save him for Sunday.

If it was me, I'm saving him at this point. To be fair, FSU wasn't the strongest #1 seed in the regionals either. They got a big boost by winning the ACC Tourney.

Baseball's an odd game sometimes. Caught me by surprise because FSU was rocket hot coming in.

Can only hope our come apart at the end of the season was just a slump and not an indication of us reverting to type. Would be great if we got hot now. If we can get to a super it would make my year.

Well pretty much here are the upsets so far as today is almost done. Everyone except the Fort Worth Regional and Stanford Regional are done with Round 1. Stanford will be on their 3rd day tomorrow.

Of course the biggest was #2 UNC losing to Davidson 8-4. 1 and 2 seeds FSU and UCF both lose in the Tallahassee Regional. The barn and Tennessee Tech play tomorrow to go to the Regional Final in Tallahassee. Calvi and USA beats Miss State 6-3 in the Hattiesburg Regional. Southern Miss was down 6-1 to Illinois-Chicago and comes back to win 8-7. 3 and 4 seeds Texas A&M & Iowa advance in the Houston Regional.

In contrast, the SEC is 7-1 with MSU's loss to USA being the only loss. USA is pretty good and has a good shot at getting out of the Southern Miss regional.
Yea I mentioned last night that all 4 seeds could probably win that region. I would not be surprised to see MSU get put out against USM though.

Well the barners win 5-3 and move on to the regional final. Stanford/CSU Fullerton is playing now and if CSUF wins they'll be the first team to move to the Super Regionals.

We're sitting pretty, but we're now out of "sure thing" starters. Hope we get the Davis Daniel we got against UT and MSU earlier this year for the final tomorrow.

Good thing is, if we get to a super, the Lubbock regional platter has looked pretty blasé. A CWS appearance is a possibility.

Good to AU and all the other SEC brethern as far as I am concerned!

How do you guys feel with us picking Bohannon off?

Kidding. ;)

I think he'll be a good get for y'all, not unlike Thompson was for us. (If nothing else, he's a big step up from Goff.) Guy is a great recruiter and will bring the talent to get you back on track. How good a game day coach he'll turn out to be remains to be seen, but he's a highly respected assistant and knows the game so I expect good things there.

SEC did pretty good today. Here is what happened today:

Vandy goes to the Clemson Regional Final by beating Clemson 9-4

Texas moves into the Long Beach Regional Final.

Stanford was the first #1 seed to be eliminated and CSU-Fullerton is the first team to reach the Super Regionals.

The barn moves into the Tallahassee Regional Final by beating Tennessee Tech 5-3.

Hattiesburg was rained out again. They have only played 2 games so far.

LSU moves into their Regional Final

#4 seed Davidson moves into the Chapel Hill Regional Final

Texas A&M moves into the Houston Regional Final

Missouri State upset Arkansas to move into the Fayetteville Regional Final.

Florida becomes the 5th SEC team to move to the Regional Final

SEC was 5-2 with Arkansas and Kentucky being the only teams losing today.

Stanford became the first National Seed to be put out of the tournament.

National Seeds are 14-3 so far with Stanford (2-2) being the only one eliminated. UNC is the other team facing early elimination Sunday with 5 other National Seeds waiting in their Regional Final.

Here it is, almost 3am in the morning and Arkansas and Missouri State are STILL playing! The lead has changed multiple times and the rain came again in the 8th and the umps were about to call it before Dave Van Horn goes nuts, seems to have had a valid argument since Arky pitched their half of the 8th so here we are in the 8th and Arky goes back up 9-8 now. Missouri State pitcher keeps trying to throw sliders in the rain, not smart, and sure enough he sails one above the batter and the runner at 3rd scores to put them up. Reminds me of the Bama/OU softball game in the rain.

Edit: Sure enough as I hit send Arkansas hits a 2-run homer to go up 11-8. What a weird game/night/morning.
