I don't think Dantonio is on the hot seat. Last year was just a disaster for him.
Kingsbury has been too busy being a buddy instead of a coach. He's gone if they don't hang at least 8 wins this season.
If Sumlin repeats the last couple of years with strong starts and weak finishes, he's gone.
Butch has to beat Bama and win the East to save his job. I'm going to go ahead and mark him as out the door.

-Kingsbury, my BIL was a college teammate of Kingsbury while he was at TTU. He's still pretty connected to the program. This IS his final year to do something.
-Botch is out the door. No way he wins the east and beats Bama. He's been there long enough to see what type team he fields. They're soft. Soft don't beat Bama.
TTU doesn't have a snowball's chance in Lubbock in July to win more than 6 games. They have the earliest open date of any P5 school that has just one open date. 09/09. Meaning they play ELEVEN straight games to end the season. SIX on the road!

Butch Jones should be gone but won't be.
Mora is gone for sure.
I don't see how A&M improves by firing Sumlin but he is likely gone if they repeat the last few years.
Malzahn is tough but I think he will survive unless it gets ugly.
If I'm Nebraska I'm moving on from Pelini if the right coach is available.
I don't care or know much about Arizona or Texas Tech tbh.

Pelini has been gone for a couple years. He's at Youngstown St where he's having quite a bit of success. Mike Riley moved to Nebraska from Oregon St. after they fired Pelini a couple years ago.

Tennessee -- I think Butch is safer than most of you. I think if he gets to 8-4 he's safe and they only can him if the season is a total disaster.
UCLA -- I think Mora is fired if they only get to 6 wins. You can't have a NFL top 5 prospect at QB and loads of talent and perform that badly.
Texas A&M -- I think if they have another start hot, finish weak 7-5 season they'll can Sumlin.
Auburn -- I think he survives if they win more than 8 games.
Nebraska -- I think Riley is gone if they win 6 games. The B1G West just isn't good enough for that to be acceptable.
Arizona -- I think Rich Rod is gone if they don't have a winning record.
Texas Tech -- I think Kingsbury is gone without a winning record. At 6-6 it's probably a coin flip.
Mich State -- Dantonio made them into a legit national power, won multiple B1G Titles and won the Rose Bowl. Won the Cotton Bowl. Got to the Playoff. One bad season won't kill him. Only way he's fired after 2017 is if this sex scandal turns into a Baylor situation.

It appears to me that Arizona and Texas Tech really don't give a hoot. If they did they would have changed last year. Nebraska? No one could figure out why they hired a loser to begin with, so why would they fire him for not winning? Texas A&M will change coaches, mark it down. Tennessee does not have the &&& to change ~ that is why they hired Jones to start with.
I really think Butch Jones is probably a good coach for an up and coming mid major school but he won't take the vols to elite status.
I think in view of the AD's statement about Sumlin yesterday, he has no room for error this year. He doesn't have a quarterback yet so I think he'll be gone.
If Kingsbury had any defense at all TT could win a lot of games. I don't think he cares about playing defense so much so I think he will be gone this season.
I actually saw a thread on the barn's 24/7 board basically saying that Gus will be safe as long as CNS is at Alabama. The idea was that no matter who they hire, he won't beat Coach Saban. Why buy out Gus if they can't beat Saban anyway? Then, after CNS retires they'll hire a savior type coach. I'm not making this up!

Gus's back is against the wall. Jarrett Stidham will save Gus. I don't think he will be the second coming of cam newton, but I think he is very good.

That's freaking crazy to schedule your off date after the season opener instead of giving your team a break to catch its breathe & to heal up some later in the season..
They have all their eggs n the Stidham basket. Something happens to him or he is not at least all conference level, they could implode. They would like to get rid of Butch, but they have to get finances in order first. If Sparta fires their coach, a lucky team will get a solid coach.
Only problem with that scenario is Coach Saban will leave Bama with Blue Chippers stockpiled out of the ying yang & we will have the best of the absolute best HC's wanting to come to Bama to reap the rewards Coach Saban has left the next HC..
