Alabama's 2017 roster was revealed Sunday night as Saturday Down South released photos of the Crimson Tide's media guide prior to SEC Media Days. The media guide, which presents Jalen Hurts and Calvin Ridley on the cover, shows the heights, weights and numbers for all Alabama players, including the 12 summer enrollees.

While the majority of Alabama's roster put on weight, 16 players lost weight. The biggest transformation was by walk-on defensive lineman Vohn Keith Jr. who gained 27 pounds. The biggest change among notable players includes: Da'Ron Payne (-11 pounds), Raekwon Davis (-9 pounds), Irv Smith (+11 pounds), Cam Sims (+11 pounds), Miller Forristall (+13 pounds) and B.J. Emmons (+14 pounds).
Also of note - Jamey Mosley added 20 pounds and is now listed at 6'5, 248.

Deonte Brown is still listed at 350 "no change". I was hoping he would have dropped a few for the fall. Oh well, can't rely too much on program heights / weights, I guess.

Davis was already fast. Losing 9 pounds will probably only help.

Few things I noticed:
Shyheim Carter went from 190 to 195.
Bo Scarbrough went from 228 to 235 total of 7 pounds. ( I thought that was interesting)
Cam Sims from 203 to 214 in total of 11 pounds ( That's real interesting to me.)

Looking at the DB group:
Keaton Anderson dropped 14 pounds... I wonder if they moved him to DB?
Levi Wallace gained 13 pounds. Other than that, most of the DB gained between 2 and 8 pounds.

DL group:
I noticed Payne dropped 11 pounds, Wight dropped 5 pounds, Davis 9 poundswhile Williams gained 1 pounds, Keith Jr 27 pounds and hand 8 pounds. Something tells me that this DL will be lot faster than last year.

RB groups
All gained weight. Makes me wonder if we're going to be more physical?

TE groups:
This is more interesting to me. All but 2 gained over 9 pounds. I suepect this is for blocking purpose?

WR Group
Cam Sims gained 11 pounds putting him at 214. That's little heavier than I would like for him to be at. I’m thinking he'll play slot.

I thought it was interesting that no one gained any height. Usually, there are kids between 18 and 21 who continue to grow. Like a David Robinson (who is a little bit of the exception) that entered Annapolis at 6'4" and grew to 7'1". I can't believe that no one grew an inch or two on the entire team.....

Based on passed years and what the players would later say concerning their weight, I don't know if we can place a lot of confidence on the weights and measures presented.

Ben Jones of the Tuscaloosa News says Keaton is moving to DB.

Surprised to see Jacobs weight gain at 'only' +8 pounds. He looked HUGE in the spring game. I thought he had gained 12-15 Lbs at least. I guess it could be a bit of an optical illusion due to changing to a single digit Jersey# in addition to gaining weight.

I really look forward to seeing him get some extra snaps this year. I LOVE the way he runs.

I agree - he looks bigger/thicker than that to me..

not that he had a lot to lose, but it looks like he's also leaner than during the 2016 season, so he probably lost a few pounds of fat and packed on more than 10 of muscle to get to a net of 8 gained.

good to see that Christian Miller got himself up to 240. At that weight he'll be more of a consideration for a possible 3 down role versus pass rush specialist only.

I think CS needed a little weight and had the frame to add it. He looked thin to me. Look at how much weight Julio Jones has added over the years. CS will be a better Wide Out with that weight IMO.

another interesting thing: separating out all the guys projected to make an impact at ILB this year, whether the gained or lost weight, they all basically arrived at weigh in within a couple pounds of 235. That must be what the staff feels is the most ideal weight for the position now.

Mack WilsonILB6-2236- 8 pounds
Keith HolcombeILB6-4236+ 9 pounds
Shaun Dion HamiltonILB6-0235+ 3 pounds
Rashaan EvansILB6-3234+ 3 pounds

Are there others reporting later that will be on the team?

Who isn't on this roster that we are expecting to see when fall practices begin?
No one other than any walk-ons that try out for the team in August.

Saban was just asked about Mack Wilson. Said ILB is one of our deepest position and that Mack is so dynamic they could possibly develop him as a rusher.

Lord have mercy.
