We need to beat FSU and as much as I hate to say it, the Barn needs to beat Clemson. This will shut-up the basketball league.
You missed the point. If you are comparing Bama and Clemson or Bama and anyone there is no point. It's when you get into arguments about teams like LSU vs FSU and Miami vs Florida where you start to see. Then when you start to compare VT to Kentucky or Mizzou to Duke.Who's schedule would you rather play?
Clemson's Conference Schedule:
at Louisville
BC at home
at VA Tech
Wake Forest at home
AT Syracuse
GA TEch at Home
at NC State
FSU at home
or
at Vandy
Ole Miss at home
at A&M
Arkansas at home
UT at home
LSU at home
at Miss State
at Auburn
1) Who is our and their? I honestly have never got this conference pride thing. The rosters of our mid tier are still better than theirs.

For fun, I listed these in order of easiest to most difficult (IMO, of course):Who's schedule would you rather play?
UT has but LSU, UF, and UGA with coaches in years 2 and 3 seem to be in the right direction. Alabama just happens to be in the same conference as them.I agree with him for the 2016 season, but it is one of those things that has to be proved every year. We shall see what happens in 2017. There is no doubt that of the 5 top all time SEC programs, 4 (LSU, UGA, UF and UT) have taken a step backward.
My thoughts exactly! let him crow and spout till kick off it'll just be bulletin board material for our guys:BigA:This is the type of comment he could make if they beat us but I don't understand the logic behind it with a big game against us coming up. I'm glad he made it though if it helps get our guys fired up.
I was about to post that Jimbo has a point, really, but this retires any notion of that. Good summary.Tennessee beating GT could make for a real bad weekend on this assessment.
On the SEC Front...
South Carolina beat North Carolina St
Alabama beat Florida St
Around the Nation...
Cal beat North Carolina
Pitt narrowly beats FCS Youngstown St
Virginia struggled against FCS William & Mary
Heisman-winning QB Lamar Jackson & Louisville comes from behind to beat lowly Purdue
The ACC has lost every game of note in their week 1 slate thus far. A victory over Tennessee isn't likely to mean a ton but it would save face. Clemson looked like a champion receiving the victor's welcome in Death Valley yesterday afternoon. Perhaps the ACC is just living off Clemson's accomplishments and they're no different that the media assessment of the SEC!
So, then, you do care - at least a little.I could absolutely care less if we play in the best conference...
Doesn't fit the narrative. The ACC played six FCS teams this weekend. So why doesn't the national media whine about it the way they do when the SEC does it in November?

The narrative is an attempt to do as I've said in the "rusty week 1" thread: the broadcasters want less dead weeks on their schedule and the SEC ain't playing ball in the second to last week. They're attempting to guide the narrative to enact change that benefits their pockets. They don't really care if half a conference is playing nobodies if everyone else is playing ball but the 2nd to last week is kinda lame across the country and worst in the SEC.Doesn't fit the narrative.
Exactly.Doesn't fit the narrative.
