"Despair to Dominance" - It starts with Gene Stallings' press conference after the 1996 Iron Bowl, goes through the Mikes and their debacles, fRan and the destruction of the bobbleheads, and the last shot is Saban hoisting the trophy from his first Championship at Alabama.

From the Valley to the Summit - the fall and rise of Sal Aunese and the Colorado Buffaloes

Out of the Grey, into the Light - the Tuscaloosa tornado and the next two championships

Chucky - the story of the tragic paralysis and early death of Ole Miss DB Chucky Mullins, and the rise of the 1990 Rebels into an SEC contender

Iron Sharpeneth Iron - the inside story of the move of the Iron Bowl from an annual Birmingham affair to a home and home

Gene and Eric - on the second half kickoff of the 1989 Iron Bowl, Eric Ramsey tackled Gene Jelks on the return. Within three years, both would make serious allegations that would be eventually wind up with both schools being put on probation

The Fix - the 1962 Alabama-UGA game, replete with the tragic fallout for nearly everyone involved, including the reduction of Alabama-UGA games, the infamous libel law still on the books, and why it matters

Lurking Beneath the Swamp - the implosion of the Florida Gators 1984 first-ever SEC champions with 107 NCAA violations, the subsequent rise of the Gator program culminating in Heisman Trophies and national titles, and how the UF-UT rivalry really heated up

Poll Position - A look at how precedence was used to determine non-head-to-head national champions with the force of a SCOTUS edict and how we got the BCS and subsequently the four-team playoff

Strike One - how the 1981 baseball strike forever changed the sport

1984 - a look at the bizarre twists and turns that culminated in a national championship for BYU, including the refusal of both Washington and Oklahoma to play in the Holiday Bowl despite the willingness of the Orange Bowl to release either team for a national championship game

Mirror Image - a closer look at the fallout from the 1987 Fiesta Bowl, where Miami's thug public morality is contrasted with the pathetic tragedy being imposed on young boys by Penn State DC Jerry Sandusky

Katie Did - the story of Nebraska b-ball player Kate McEwan's long-term recovery from and coping with the domestic violence visited upon her by Lawrence Phillips (which can hardly avoid being turned into "The Lawrence Phillips Tragedy")

The Need for Speed - how both the 1991 Washington Huskies and Nebraska Dynasties used team speed after embarrassing defeats in bowl games to forge national title teams.

Imagine

A dormant football team in a backwatered state becoming relevant after nearly 60 years.

Imagine

A son from that state rises from the high school ranks to take control of its most prized university football team

Imagine

A football team coming together under religious morals and dedication in the face of the university's controversial traditions and heritage

imagine

That football team coming so close to a championship but losing to the same team two years in a row.

And then imagine

That what seemed to a return to relevance suddenly became a nightmare due to cheating

In the end Most stories are too good as it was with Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss. join us tonight on 30 for 30 with "Mississippi Freezing"

How about that magical undefeated season for Notre Dame until they played a REAL team that bull-dozed them in the National Championship game?

I would try to produce a series which follows a group of recruits through their senior season in HS, through the recruitment process, all the way up to each signed commitment and signed LOI. How are they treated in school by classmates and teachers? What does the recruitment process look like from their perspective? From their parents perspective? How do the various aspects of the recruitment process effect their decisions? How does the rating of each player impact the process - 5 star vs 3 star, for instance. That kind of thing.

I just wished they would do a 30 for 30 on us period. From being the first team to put the South on the map to still dominating today. Don't care for the bad stuff and it should be left out like they did on the Miami 30 for 30.

I think a "From Bryant to Saban" retrospective on the years between the two legends will make for good television. So much happened--both good and bad--that would be good to chronicle and often gets lost in all the attention given to the dominant years.

I would also like to see "Ole Miss-dial" on the whole Hugh Freeze saga, or a more comprehensive reprise of the inglorious downfalls of various SEC coaches over the past decade or so--Tater Tot at Auburn, Price for us, Nutt at Arkansas, Petrino, Freeze, etc.

Back when all this was going on i was so infuriated i actually called the NCAA office and spoke to Rich Johanningmeier. I asked him point blank why the NCAA was only focused on 1 of 7 schools (Including Tennessee, Georgia, Ole Miss) who were in a bidding war for Albert Means (as reported by Albert's high school coach). You want to know what his answer was - i hope you're sitting down - he said "We have limited resources and people to do the investigative work. We can't investigate all of them."

But it's all water under the bridge now. If we had not gotten in trouble, our path may not have led to Saban.

PAT'S PANTS: Follow us on a Dye-ve to the bottom of Lake Martin, to discover a 30 year old pair of missing plaid britches, as well as the TRUE character of a football program that has lied, cheated, and stolen their way through the decades... only to claim memory loss whenever the evidence of impropriety emerges from the murky depths.
