y'all is another one of those I hate. I never use it. It was pointed that I don't by my friend from India. I usually say you guys which is very northern.
Which ought to automatically get you deported from any state below the Mason Dixon line. And if you say it in a "nasal-lee" tone you ought to have your Bama fan card pulled.

I'm sure there's a source out there that says otherwise. "You" can definitely be either singular or plural according to the rules but as a practical matter can be confusing when used as a plural or collective pronoun without qualifiers.

LOL

I hate phrases like "open-minded" and think "outside the box". Using them has become the contrary of their ideas. Maybe you've already mentioned them, so let it be just my two cents.
