Yah, those are both definitely the biggest cons facing EVs.I think the constraining factor is battery storage. As that technology improves, whether it's incremental steps or a sea-change breakthrough, non-fossil power becomes more and more viable.
Secondarily will be re-charging time. When it takes hours to refuel, that puts a huge damper on the car as a method of 200-600 mile transportation. That has to change, too.
But I believe both will in my lifetime. Which changes the dynamic in the Middle East entirely.
OTOH the advent of fast charging stations is already a thing. But it can still be very impractical to take an electric car on a road trip.On "The Grand Tour" James and Jeremy do a test with a BMW i8 and a I think a VW Golf and it's just super obnoxious to keep charging the BMW.
