I once used to be involved in underground hip hop. One forum in particular was full of wanna be rappers, people who never did anything beyond sit in their basement rapping on a computer. The funny thing was listening to how they'd nitpick obviously more talented and competent individuals. They would say how their lyrics were better, or kind of inflate pointless criteria to greater importance, just so they could delude themselves into thinking they were something they were not. The key though is they'd always be kind of jealous of people that were actually good at it, they had to try to find ways of talking themselves up, of feeling like they were better at this or that. Sure coach, may be you're better at coaching back-up quarterbacks than Saban is...

In the case of Saban, didn't we even see Spurrier employ this a bit? The of course he does well, he has great recruits thing? Well, the truth is when it comes to talent, there are several teams that are right up there with Alabama in terms of NFL talent. Miami (yes Miami), Florida State, LSU, Georgia, Oklahoma, USC, Ohio State, all those programs, not just Alabama are consistently loaded with NFL talent. The trick is turning that into consistent results, and is there any real question who is the best in that regard?
