Career: I'd probably have to go with Mark Gottfried or Eric Washington.

Taking a 3 to win the game: Robert Horry

I think people forget that how good of a shooter Gottfried was at Bama, although I admit he only had one year to work with the three point shot:

Gottfried was a 49% 3P shooter who made 2.5 per game.

Steele was good at 41% and making 1.7 per game.

Shelton was a 36% shooter who made 2.0 per game.

Eric Washington was as 39% shooter who made 2.3 per game.

STARTS from Sports Reference and are career stats.

Out of curiosity I added a few more I remember for their 3 point shooting:

Jim Farmer 39% shooter and made 1.1 per game.
James "Hollywood Robinson" 37% shooter who made 2.3 per game
Robert Horry was a 37% shooter and made 1 per game
Rod Grizzard was a 30% shooter and made 1.7 per game

Grizzard belongs in "Streakiest 3 point shooter" discussion

Gary Waites hit 52-101 (>51%) in 1990-91 season; not as many attempts as some but still a good number.

Gottfried has the highest career percentage (a minimum of 100 attempts); 81-167 (48.5%). Alvin Lee was second at 132-279 (47.3%).

i remember Gary Waites his senior season was a great 3 point shooter. He was money in the SEC and NCAA tourney., those Wimp Sanderson teams always seemed to shoot the 3 better in the NCAA and SEC tourney.

I know there is a lot of Shelton Love, but the fact is he is not in the Top 10 foe EITHER season or career 3pt fg%

Gottfried is the career leader at a whopping 48.5%

Guy that seems to have been forgotten - Keith Askins, 6th in career 3pt fg%

I have watched Bama hoops since the late 70s....

To me -- and maybe, only me -- Shelton was the best 3pt shooter we ever had. "Best" can mean a lot of things. It's not necessarily statistics. Gottfried only had a 3pt line his senior year if I recall. So, that's a 1 year percentage -- as a senior. I would totally prefer Shelton ....
